TWO of ??? problems are obvious
-a 1. about half the icons associated with /home/richard/.config/Desktop
-a-a-a-a are no longer visible on main portion of screen. Apparently mushed
-a-a-a-a together vertically on right edge of screen.
-a 2. There used to be a panel along bottom edge of screen with titles
-a-a-a-a of open programs and 4 icons at right end indicating available
-a-a-a-a work-spaces.
OPERATOR ERROR(S) are responsible for the second!
The first error was accidentally creating a shortcut on the bottom panel
to an instance of Pluma containing an open text file.
I would click on it and it would display the text. I would attempt to
close it with the button in the upper right corner of the Pluma screen.> The text would go away but the Pluma icon would remain on the bottom panel.
My second error was clicking on the panel and [without thinking]
choosing to *delete* panel. [YES appropriate warning did appear ;[
How do I get all contents of Desktop sub-directory to appear on visible portion of screen?
How do I get "deleted panel" back?
After calming down I started reading the Help screen.
I've the functionality but not the geometry of what was on the default
bottom panel.
The Workspace icon is on right edge of panel where it was.
Although the active widows show properly the panel is no longer the full width and description of active windows is no longer the same
[functionality is present but not old appearance]
TIA
P.S. spent decades in Engineering Support etc etc ;}
