Iran's militant and unyielding supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali
Khamenei, who ruled the Islamic Republic for more than three
decades and oversaw an era of harsh internal repression and
confrontation with the United States and Israel, has died
following the Israeli strike in Tehran, as his compound was
reduced to rubble, a senior Israeli official told Fox News
Digital.
"Khamenei was the contemporary Middle East's longest-serving
autocrat. He did not get to be that way by being a gambler.
Khamenei was an ideologue, but one who ruthlessly pursued the
preservation and protection of his ideology, often taking two
steps forward and one step back," Behnam Ben Taleblu, senior
director of FDD's Iran program, told Fox News Digital.
"Khamenei's worldview was shaped by his militant anti-Americanism
and antisemitism, which first manifested itself in his protests
against the Shah of Iran," he added.
Born April 19, 1939, in Mashhad, eastern Iran, Khamenei was
among the Islamist activists who played a central role in the
1979 revolution that overthrew the U.S.-backed Shah Mohammad
Reza Pahlavi. A close ally of Iran's first supreme leader,
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Khamenei rose through the new
system and served as president from 1981 to 1989 before becoming
supreme leader after Khomeini's death that same year.
Decades in power, Khamenei consolidated control over Iran's
political and security system, presiding over repeated crackdowns
on dissent and maintaining a hardline posture toward Washington
and Jerusalem.
"Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's rule has been marked by unrelenting
brutality and repression, both within Iran and beyond its
borders," said Lisa Daftari, an expert on Iran and editor-in-chief
of The Foreign Desk. She pointed to executions and the enforcement
of strict social controls as defining features of the system
under Khamenei's leadership.

Netanyahu's wet dream coming true after crying 'Iran has got nuclear >capabilities (soon)' for over 30 years. He's already a wanted war
criminal, so who cares? I'll bet he'll get the 2026 FIFA Peace Prize
for this.
Iran has confirmed Khamenei's death and the big question is: what now?

Khamenei was anti-nuke.
Trump tore up an anti-nuke treaty, then demanded a new one, and simply wouldn't take "yes" for an answer.
It's likely that Kemenei's successor will not be as anti-nuke as he
was so if Trump was really trying to stop Iran from having nukes, his
efforts will have been singularly counterproductive.
If any "war on terror" is to succeed, its priority will have to be to
take out Netanyahu and Trump.

I'm calling you out yet again for exhibiting anti-Semitism.
Historically, the Jews and Persians were always allies. Always,
including back to Biblical times. It was the religious state that made
Jews the Enemy when they hadn't been before.
Under the Shah, nuclear development was intended to reign in an--
expansionist Russia, but under the religious state, it was intended to
attack Jerusalem and bring about End Times. They kept saying so!
Furthermore, the religious state and its leaders are literally war
criminals for making war upon Israel via Hamas and Hezbollah proxies.
You refuse to acknowledge this.
The religious leaders and the top generals and the Revolutionary Guard
Corps are all legitimate military targets and, quite frankly, Iran never should have been allowed to make war anywhere in the Middle East by
proxy. They wanted war without feeling the pain of war themselves.
No. Netanyahu did not commit a war crime in this instance. The Iranian leadership were the war criminals.
I know I'm bashing my head against a brick wall here. I have zero
interest in additional denials of anti-Semitism. If I had a choice, I'd prefer that you just kill file me.

Not liking Netanyahu is not the same as not liking Jews. What do you see as >antisemitic in Mark Shaw's post? He was talking about Netanyahu, not about >Israel, and still less about Jews in general.

Even since the demise of the Shah, Israel has had excellent relations at >times with some Islamic nations, most notably with Turkey. In 2001 the >International Congress of Biochemistry was planned to be in Jerusalem,
but the Intifada made that plan too risky, so it was moved to Istanbul,
where the Turkish government gave the Israeli organizers full control
over the programme.

You may be confusing Javad Khamenei with Ruhollah Khomeini. The
Grand Ayatollah had seven children, none of which was Ali Hosseini
Kamenei.
But yes, they're all bozos on that bus.
