Paramount has announced that its new Star Trek show, "Starfleet
Academy," will end after the airing of the already-wrapped second
season. I haven't seen one second of it outside of the trailers, which
I was revulsed by. I haven't heard anything good about it.

Star Trek fans used to crack on Rick Berman tenure as Trek's
showrunner after Roddenberry died, (I didn't), but he's looking pretty
good right now. I would even take Brannon Braga back. But the man I
really wish that TPTB would see fit to turn over the show to is Seth MacFarlane. He loves the franchise, is in tune with the
Roddenberry-Berman vision, and has proven that he can make successful television shows. He's also on record as saying that he would do it,
    if asked.

One thing that anchors me in my desire to live forever is to survive
into a world where Star Trek has finally been forgotten.

I agree. Check out this YouTube video that discusses Berman: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEHMDPq-3Rs

I have a certain small circle of friends who loved it. I've learned
over the years to take any expression of appeal to those friends
as a negative review. Looks like I was right.

    Chances of that happening? Eh.

I loathe Star Trek (except of course for That One Thing) but I have
gotten some entertainment value out of YouTuber "Nerdrotic" absolutely
savaging it. I can't vouch for all his output, as I have only seen
maybe 15 minutes total of it, but what I have seen is highly
    entertaining.
