Most people outside France won't have heard of her, but 25 years ago Loana was one of the most famous people in the country, as the star of Loft Story, the first French telereality series. I never watched it, but it was impossible not to know about it. She was found dead in Nice yesterday, but certainly died some days earlier.

Maybe I'm Anglicizing the French term t|-l|-r|-alit|-. This sort of thing originated
in the USA but I don't know what it's called there. You bring a group of young people together, you stick them in a fixed environment and film what they do there.

    It's mostly unwatchable reality TV.

    Reality TV?

Well, actually "reality" TV since there's nothing real about it.
