    Ernie Anastos, iconic New York anchor who spent 11 years at WABC-TV, dies
    at 82

    Former Eyewitness News anchor Ernie Anastos has died at the age of 82.

    Anastos spent 11 years as an anchor at Eyewitness News beginning in 1978 before he left in 1989.

    Throughout his career, Anastos also worked as an anchor at WCBS, WWOR and WNYW.

    Does 11 years rate a "*long term*"?...obviously the record for a
    NYC anchor is Chuck Scarborough's 1974-2024 tenure at WNBC.

    Throughout his career, Anastos also worked as an anchor at WCBS, WWOR and WNYW.

    ...did Anastos hold a record for any of those stations?
    (including the WOR and WNEW eras)
