    Aldrich Ames, former CIA agent who sold secrets to the Soviets in the 1980s, dies in federal prison

    Aldrich Ames, the former CIA agent turned Russian asset, died in a federal prison in Maryland, according to a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson. He was 84 years old.

    Ames was the chief of the intelligence division at the CIA and had access to some of the nation's most damaging secrets.

    Specifically, FCI Cumberland, an institution I have driven by many
    times, though not very recently. It's medium-security and is home to
    that one surviving Somali pirate from that thing they made the movie
    of. (Along with all those memes.)

    about the son, but his wife served time in prison and then went back
    to Colombia when she got out.
