I'm weary of going through the gyrations required to make news articles readable on Usenet. So this is it.
Here's one:

Former Boston Red Sox coach and manager Joe Morgan has died,
the team announced Sunday. He was 95.
Morgan spent three-and-a-half seasons as the Red Sox's manager,
taking over the job partway through the 1988 season. That year,
he led Boston to a 89-73 record and an AL East title. The
stretch following Morgan's hire was dubbed "Morgan Magic," as
the Red Sox won 12 straight coming out of the All-Star break.
As Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner noted in the statement, 2026
has seen echoes of the 1988 season: After the sudden firing of
manager Alex Cora in April, Boston surged through the summer
and is comfortably in an AL wild-card spot.
Morgan, a former player and Walpole, Massachusetts native,
spent nearly two decades within the Red Sox organization. In
1974, Morgan became the manager of Boston's Triple-A affiliate
Pawtucket Red Sox, serving in that role until 1982. He was then
promoted to join Boston's staff, serving as scout and coach;
Morgan was a bullpen coach when the Red Sox won the AL pennant
in 1986.
After 1988, Morgan stayed on to manage Boston for the next
three seasons, finishing above .500 in each and winning the AL
East again in 1990. He was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of
Fame in 2006.
Morgan is survived by four children, six grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
