There's a small restaurant right on the Putnam/Westchester county line
that has been through many incarnations...the ones I recall now are
Stoneleigh Creek,Blackboard Bistro,Abmacco (American Burger Mac & Cheese Company),
Northern Smoke, and most recently it was "Bam's"...
I think the name was both an acronym for "Burgers And More"
and an abbreviation of the owner's family name,Bambace.

It was mostly a one-man operation (the menu advice that if one had
food allergies one should tell "the owner, manager, chef,or your server"
was something of an in-joke since all were the same person) though
he may have had part-timers on the two days a week he was open for
    dinner.

I only ever ordered a double hamburger aside from a couple of times I
ordered a triple, which could barely fit in my mouth to take a bite.
This was a non-menu item since apart from the single all the burgers
defaulted to cheeseburgers in the printed menu and computer system.
More expensive than a fast-food joint's equivalent but definitely of
    superior quality.

Last month the sign that for years had said "Bam's Est. 2018"
abruptly became a giant "4" over what I had to stop in to make
out said "SALE/RENT" and a phone number, and then the last time
I drove by was broken in pieces.

    Yes.
(The associated menu is before price hikes).

(And this being Google Maps, they give the location as "Carmel Hamlet"
though the restaurant is miles away from the hamlet in a different
direction from the one in which I am miles away from it...the post
office is there, but the hamlet itself is much smaller than that
    post office's delivery area).
