Lindsey Graham, long time Republican senator from South Carolina, died
after a sudden illness. He was 71, not especially elderly by Senate standards.
I thought his politics were all over the map when first elected. Before Trump, I thought he'd settled into an ordinary conservative Senator, but
to survive, he endorsed Trump early and was a somewhat reliable ally. He stayed recognizeably conservative in foreign policy.

Coincidentally similar to what was cited for Victor Willis.

standards.

I remember him as a House member in the Iran-Contra days.

He used to denounce Trump and Twitterers made a compilation of the
harsh criticisms he made of Trump and most often quoted one where
he said backing Trump would doom the Republicans.
Then he switched to,as electoral-vote.com put it,
dividing his time between licking Trump's golf shoes
and telling the world how great they taste.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

Preliminary finding: aortic rupture
That's not survivable.

It is, actually. A friend of mine had one at age 71. He was one of my mountain-biking buddies and he was rocking the trails *hard* at his
age -- kicking the asses of a lot of 15-20-years younger men,
including that of Your Humble Narrator.
He woke up one night in agony, screaming (and I'd seen him take a rock
to the face at 15+ mph in a bike wreck and get up and shake it off)
and was Life-Flighted into immediate surgery.
It wrecked him. He never came close to getting on a bicycle again and
he was in and out of the hospital with multiple surgeries, and after something less than a year of that he just said "No more
interventions" and checked out relatively peacefully.
I mean, at least he got to have a little bit of time with family and
say his good-byes and relive some memories for a while.
It's probably not *recoverable* but it is technically survivable.
(There are other cases in the literature, as well.)
