  • David Hockney, painter, 1937-2026

    David Hockney was far from being my favourite painter (though in the first picture in his Wikipedia article he looks like me, albeit wearing a bow tie, something I haven't worn for a good 25 years), but he was widely admired. According to King Charles he was "a giant of the world of art and painting;"

    He died at the age of 88 on the 11th June, at home in London.
