I'm looking for a song I heard on an oldies station... the lyrics has
"rainy day" and "pitter patter" (the sound that rain makes). I've
search the lyrics search engines, but nothing! The song is very upbeat,
but I can't remember any other words to it. "Pitter patter" should give
it away, but can't find it anywhere.

My Pop used to sing me a song but I can't find it any where online.
He was born in Tennessee but raised in Southern New Jersey, so it could be any genre from country to rock and roll tbh.
It sounded more like a melody, though, the way he sang it, sort of like (he used to sing me this song, too):

Mother Woke Me Up Today
Pitter patter, pitter patter, if it rains what does it matter, soon the clouds will scatter and the sun will shine again.
Mother woke me up today, clouds are weeping so they say. Clouds may weep, may weep for hours, raindrops are their tears.
Pitter patter, pitter patter, if it rains what does it matter, soon the clouds will scatter and the sun will shine again.
Pitter patter, pitter patter, if it rains what does it matter, see them chase each other down the shiny window pane.
Pitter patter, pitter patter, if it rains what does it matter, soon the clouds will scatter and the sun will shine again.
