the hinge on my old door has a hole drilled into it... with what may be
a small allen bolt to hold it in? is that a thing?
or maybe just drilled for security?
anyhow... how do i get it out?
    thank you

That's a NRP hinge -- non-removable pin -- to prevent someone from removing the pins on the hinges to open the door. Some are force fitted into the drilled hole, some are threaded in with an allen-socket for removal.
