Is there any manual around how to patch/modify the idlerpg bot?
I assume the events.txt can be edited like that, but it seems rather short.

I've just taken over the idlerpg bot for esper.net (after 20 years of
just being a user) and I've been really pleased with how simple and
clear the code idlerpg code is.

What kind of modification were you thinking of?

Mostly just expanding it by a few more items or events. I had a look at
the code and it looks rather simple, but I am not into that so much so I
was wondering if someone had written something about it.

There are a few different pages about it around which I guess seem to
have different functions than the stock version? I guess those were
expanded by the operator in some cases.

Ah yes. I remember this IRC game with my friends. What's patched version about? http://idle.quyo.de/patches.php doesn't connect. :(

I think just a few bugfixes from what I have seen. I mostly decided to
use that version because it had a systemd file already

That's mostly super easy. You can just add lines to events.txt . No need
to even touch the perl code.

I have recently (this week) written a set of accessory perl scripts for processing idlerpg files and producing the world map, quest map, and
even an animated archive of quest map movies.

    They're all over at http://idle.superkuh.com/ .

    http://superkuh.com/questmap.pl or http://superkuh.com/questmap-ani.pl

    and

    http://superkuh.com/worldmap2.pl

They require no webserver integration like the existing idlerpg PHP
scripts do. You just set the hardcoded file paths and run them every
    minute (so so~) with cron.
