    Hello,

    I'm new here.
I like IRC, so I just figured I could say hi.
But I'm a surprising person, so I said "Hello" instead.

Some of my best friends are in IRC.
    Long life to IRC.
    And Usenet too.

    Hello, and welcome to Usenet.
If you like IRC, can you share your favorite server?

I'm hanging out mostly on libera.chat these days, usually to lurk or
ask about my favorite open source projects.
But I've made a few friends on tilde.chat too in the last few years.
In a past life I've been hanging out on Quakenet, but that was
something like 20 years ago... Those channels are no longer alive.
    Too bad.

Usenet newsgroup on the other hand seem to exist long time after they're abandoned. Many unfortunately are.
    Do you have any recommendation?

    Hi.
    My only recommandation is comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action.

On IRC I'm hanging also on Libera.Chat, mostly on linux channels.
In the past I used Undernet, but now there is altmost no activity.

    Happy New Year.

We are running our own little ttrpg/retrocomputing/selfhost network on wilderland.ovh/campaignwiki.org. Which is fairly active but also heavily bridged with discord and xmpp.
