  • Can't see irc conversation.

    I am able to log into an irc server and join a channel but I don't see any conversation taking place. What am I doing wrong?

    Are you sure there is conversation taking place? Or maybe just a bunch of people logged in waiting for something to happen?

    Try a popular chaannel and say something, or trigger a bot or something.

    Which server did you connect? Some of them have a deaf usermode(+d).

    This is deaf mode you won't see any channel text at all.

    Use the http://netsplit.de/ website search to find where large groupings
    of people are on various IRC networks.

    a lot of people even in larger channels are just lurking, waiting for
    anything to happen to jump in and talk. So maybe try to ask a question
    and see if someone starts talking.
