Undernet is nice, but it's a big network.

You felt that libera was deserted?

well, everything not connected with specific software projects.
I mean, I like computer stuff as well, but there's only a certain amount
of mileage to be got from discussing in #libera or #debian

I am comparing to IRC from years ago

Alright, well as netsplit.de shows it's definitely down to about a 1/3
of what it once was circa 2004. But there's plenty of life left on irc.libera.chat (libera being where the vast majority of freenode people
went when freenode was attacked and died).

And I'm only 20+ smaller networks too. But telling you them all wouldn't really help if you're looking for general chat.

I'm not. I am looking for interesting networks, I also am on a few that
are at least somewhat active (like tilde.chat). Looking for more though.

yes, and I was looking through stuff in there. Still, the brief look
into a server sometimes doesn't really tell me much about if it is
actually something that still has an active community.
I've noticed a few where everybody online seems to have been a bouncer.

The most active IRC site I've been it is healthfulchat.org, though that
is health based. The #philosophy chat room is often quite active.

I think its because most people access this via the website, and most
are unaware that IRC drives it underneath.

    Hi OP Kyonshi and all,

I was just wondering, is it the interesting *networks* you're
looking for, or rather *channels* that host the kind of community
    you'd enjoy.

I'd be interested in all of your suggestions or experiences
    regarding general chat channels.

    cheers,

    lkh

I quite like healthfulchat.org, specifically the philosophy chat room.
Its a series of chat rooms, primarily around health and mental health.

    Usually quite active.
