Heres another interesting - What If - project that would have allowed
cars to visit the second level of the Eiffel Towera.
In 1936, French engineer Andr Basdevant proposed an ambitious project
to make the second floor of the Eiffel Tower accessible by car.
The plan involved constructing a spiral roadway that would allow cars
to ascend to the second level, providing an extraordinary experience
for visitors.
However, the project faced several technical and logistical
challenges, including structural concerns and the potential impact on
the Tower's aesthetic and historical integrity. Ultimately, the idea
was deemed impractical and never came to fruition.
This proposal, however, reflects the innovative spirit of the time and
the constant quest to blend modernity with tradition.
