Into the 1600s the Ottoman succession involved a
Sultan forbidden to have children before he succeeded
killing all his brothers as soon as he succeeded.
There were also assassinations going on,and feuding >concubines/consorts/mothers.
What would have happened to the Ottoman Empire if
it ran out of Ottoman Emperors?
The Usual. Someone else is "chosen". After all, possession
9/10ths of being the legitimate heir.
I don't think the menfolk would let the "Sultanate
of Women" emerge from behind the scenes, but how strong
were the Islamic clergy?
Forcibly-converted concubines and Janissaries might
cause friction with the voluntary believers?
I recall being told that at one point, one of the concubines
turned out to be a bit of the strategic genius. The Army
(Janissaries) loved her for that.
When the Sultan decided to get rid of her as a threat to his
throne, he was "deposed" and the lead general took the throne and
promptly married the concubine.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
