    they're reasonably priced in the low eight figures ...

    Are you taling about Orcale or IBM? It seems that
    your focus was NOT "IBM" at all. :)

    What happened to those Usenet newsgroups
    related to mainframes? Why were they dropped
    or filtered? Are the messages within them
    still alive? :)
