I have not had a float in years. They used to be a common menu item
in diners and dairy bars but I can't remember the last time I saw
them in the menu.

I was never impressed with floats as they were pretty much all made
with a Coke and they tasted rather flat. Then I had one made with
root beer which the taste is definitely not flat. I've been a
convert for decades.
