Have you made up your mind what tonight's feast will be or still mulling it over?

Yes, it's early, but I just came from the kitchen making a large
bowl of tuna salad for sandwiches. Probably made too much, but
it will be shared with a neighbor and I had it on my mind to
post. Made it early to chill thoroughly as it really won't be
that good until it's had several hours in the refrigerator.

Another bowl of cucumber salad will be made as well in a few
minutes. As I was gifted with three cucumbers and two good size tomatoes this will be a good use for them. I've got a large
shallot that will go into the bowl with the other two
vegetables. A rest in the 'frig for this dish as well to blend
    flavors.

Lunch today was a boiled burger. It was boiled along with some
dehydrated onions. When the water boiled away, the burger was
done. Breakfast was assorted items from a food bar.

Those look just like the ones McD's uses!

At first I thought they were short grain rice!

Indeed, they may be made at the very same factory. That's a lot of
    onions! I love dehydrated onions.

It's one of the things I actually like on McD's little play food
    burgers, lol.

In fact for some reason they also work well at home too.

Maybe because of how you use them, more like a spread, which is velvety
    onion goodness.

I cooked up another burger with dehydrated onion. It's an easy and
clean way to prepare a frozen burger patty. I put the patty in the
pan and add some water. The onion is added and in this case, some
bottled teriyaki sauce is added to the pan. The burger is turned

I have only done this on store-bought frozen hamburger patties. It might work on
homemade patties but I've never tried it. Ah, what the heck, it'll probably work

I have only done this on store-bought frozen hamburger patties. It

I'm thinking by using frozen there is greater moisture retention.

    It's a cool trick regardless.

Have you made up your mind what tonight's feast
will be or still mulling it over?

Yes, it's early, but I just came from the kitchen
making a large bowl of tuna salad for sandwiches.
Probably made too much, but it will be shared
with a neighbor and I had it on my mind to post.
Made it early to chill thoroughly as it really
won't be that good until it's had several hours
    in the refrigerator.

Another bowl of cucumber salad will be made as
well in a few minutes. As I was gifted with three
cucumbers and two good size tomatoes this will
be a good use for them. I've got a large shallot
that will go into the bowl with the other two
vegetables. A rest in the 'frig for this dish as
    well to blend flavors. ~

Lunch today was a boiled burger. It was boiled
along with some dehydrated onions. When the water
boiled away, the burger was done. Breakfast was
assorted items from a food bar.

Those look just like the ones McD's uses!

At first I thought they were short grain rice!

Indeed, they may be made at the very same factory.
That's a lot of onions! I love dehydrated onions.

    +1

It's one of the things I actually like on McD's little
    play food burgers, lol.

In fact for some reason they also work well at home too.

Maybe because of how you use them, more like a spread,
    which is velvety onion goodness.

Man, I love those little fuckers! I've tries to reproduce
them at home but failed. Feels like I'm missing a step somewhere.....

Large 17 oz bottle ideal for frequent use

I cooked up another burger with dehydrated onion. It's an
easy and clean way to prepare a frozen burger patty. I put
the patty in the pan and add some water. The onion is added
and in this case, some bottled teriyaki sauce is added to the
pan. The burger is turned several while it's on a slow boil.
When the water is gone, the burger is done. The burger comes
out more tender for some reason. It's my new favorite way to
    cook frozen burgers.

In the future, most burgers will be steamed.

    This is acceptable.

    Steam hams!
Given the large bite he took, George would NEVER make it as the
    CEO of McDonald's :)
I may try a version of this. I don't have the utensils he has,
but I have a bamboo steamer (yes, I actually bought one and still have
it) that might be an effective work-around.

That will do nicely, just have mitts to hold the ramekin of melted
    cheese with.

    His tongs looked awkward,

I will try this when I next make burgers.

I have only done this on store-bought frozen hamburger patties. It might work on
homemade patties but I've never tried it. Ah, what the heck, it'll probably work
    fine.

I have always had less than favorable experiences with store
bought frozen patties. I don't know what I'm doing to screw them up,
but they never taste quite right.
I may try your way with frozen patties and see if the teriyaki
sauce makes a difference. The plan is to have burgers tonight, so I'll
try it with some of each. I'll report back.

Frozen patties don't taste that great. I don't know why. The dehydrated onions help a lot and so does teriyaki sauce. I suppose Worcestershire would be tasty too. I don't bother with re-hydrating the onions first, putting the dry onion in the pan with water works fine.
