OK, more people are doing delivery, so the self serve fountain
drinks wouldn't be used. But what of those people who still dine in
    the restaurant?
If people are stealing drinks, deal with each person as it
    happens.
Fountain drinks are one of the biggest profit makers. Each glass
costs a few cents. Sure, each refill reduces the overall profit, but
is it really enough to matter?

I susopect the real reason is rampant theft, that is, people walking
in and filling their big thermoses and then leaving without making a
    purchase.

That's not the issue, the issue is the labor involved.

The customers are NOT paid to refill their cups. The labor, from McDonald's POV, is zero.
It can't be the five to 10 seconds it takes to remove the nozzels
and put them in a cup to soak. Or the same for putting them back on.
The cleaning is done by the machine itself, so that's not going to
    impact labor.

even mentioned religion, let alone tried to convert me to theirs.

    customers theyrCOve murdered

    That's becouse chik-fil-a has a hospititaly-first mentality, due to
the need to convert people to thier religion.

But no one is ever employee-proselytized there, are they?

So where's this fictional "conversion" done?

    crickets<

    mcdonald's, OTOH
priority is makeing the ceo's and vice-ceos rich.

So you think Chik-Fil-A isn't a *for profit corporation* too?

    AI Overview

Chick-fil-A generates over $9 billion in
annual corporate revenue and exceeds $21 billion in systemwide sales.
At the individual level, a typical domestic standalone location brings
in an average of $9.3 million to $9.4 million a year in gross sales,
making it one of the highest-performing fast-food chains in the United States. The financial breakdown for the corporation and its franchise "operators" highlights the massive volume of the brand:Corporate
Revenue and SalesAnnual Corporate Revenue: Reached over $9.1 billion,
with corporate net earnings nearing the $1 billion mark.Systemwide
Sales: Exceeds $21 billion annually across all domestic and licensed outlets.Individual Restaurant Earnings (Average)Standalone Locations:

Chick-fil-A retains ownership of the restaurants and charges a unique
fee structure (15% of gross sales plus 50% of remaining pre-tax
profit).Average Operator Take-Home: Store operators typically earn
between $150,000 and $200,000 per year, with top performers clearing

Maybe you have them confused with employee-owned Bob's Red Mill.

    AI Overview

Bob's Red Mill generates an estimated annual
revenue between $200 million and $300 million. As a private, 100% employee-owned company, it does not publicly disclose its net profit
figures. The late founder Bob Moore structured the company as an
Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), meaning corporate success
translates directly into retirement equity and profit distribution for
its workers.Financial and Company OverviewEstimated Revenue: $200M -

OK, more people are doing delivery, so the self serve fountain
