and what they can and can't do. I don't recall anything about the
supposed restrictions on TABC agents, but then he said "It's just
like cops - if you ask them whether they're cops, they have to say

I haven't seen or heard that one in a while.
You might start hearing it more. There are efforts (and I believe
some laws) to stop cops from lying to people when questioning them.
This obviously does not apply to undercover situations. But I
wouldn't be surprised if the details get scrambled.
