    25 July 1979 - Mark Hamill's head

To film the scene where Darth Vader's mask is removed in the sequence set in the cave on Dagobah, the initial plan was to use a cast of Mark Hamill's head; however, this idea was soon discarded in favour of using the actor's actual head.

The shot was in fact filmed by having Hamill's face emerge from an opening in the floor of the set, whilst he was positioned beneath it.
