Star Wars: Rogue One Getting New Prequels Following Andor's Success

It has been almost ten years since the Star Wars mythology was
redefined forever by Rogue One. The 2016 movie spun a new legend of
how the Death Star plans were stolen by the Rebel Alliance. The
characters proved immediately popular, inspiring the hit spin-off
television series Andor. Now, Lucasfilm and Marvel Comics are
partnering on a series of prequel comics centered around the cast
of the film.

"From the moment the first images of Cassian, Jyn, Saw, Baze, and
Chirrut were revealed fans have wanted to know more about the brave
outsiders who risked everything to help combat the Galactic Empire,"
Lucasfilm Senior Editor Robert Simpson told io9. "We always knew the
end ofaRogue Oneawouldn't be the end of their stories. We're so
excited for fans to get these glimpses into their pasts."

What do we know about the Star Wars: Rogue One prequels?
Marvel has announced five prequel comics featuring the cast of Star
Wars: Rogue One. Unsurprisingly, one of the one-shots centers around
Cassian Andor. The other four focus on Jyn Erso, Chirrut and Baze,
and Saw Gerrera. The fifth and final special reveals what Darth
Vader was doing before his dramatic appearance in the film.

Each comic will also feature a cover by beloved Star Wars artist
David Marquez. Three of Marquez's covers may be viewed below, along
with variant covers by Walt Simonson and Josemaria Casanovas.

Marvel and Lucasfilm have also released the following synopses,
creative teams and release dates for the Star Wars: Rogue One
prequel comics.
