Bringing Darth Maul back from the dead was a lazy and silly thing to do. :-(

That was my initial reaction. I liked what they ultimately did with the character. I gave Filoni a chance and he didn't disappoint.

Anytime 'anyone' comes back from the dead it's usually a lazy
idea! I'm sure they're hoping it becomes a profitable lazy idea
    though.

I don't tend to watch a lot of the animated stuff these days,
but I'll watch the first episode of "Maul - Shadow Lord" when
it's out to see what it's like.

    I believe there's a comic mini-series prequel to set-up some of
the characters being released too. So my son will probably get
    those... which will help! :)

Maul was brought back from the dead back in 2012 in "The Clone Wars"
animated show. He was also in the "Rebels" animated show too, as well
as a brief appearance in teh live-action "Solo" movie. This new show is
just another part of that same overall storyline.

Of course, Maul is not the first Star Wars character to come back from
the dead - Boba Fett was resurrected too.

The Clone Wars finale arc was pretty dope, how Ahsoka captured Maul and
how she used him to wreak havok during order 66.

It was a good ending for me.

I believe the upcoming show tells Maul's story from the point of his
escape with that shuttle during the series finale arc. I could be wrong.

"The Book of Boba Fett" only got good when Din Djarin appeared
and became part of the storyline. (Episode five onwards.) Up
until then it had been a bit meh...
