Maybe a Big Bang follows a complete collapse into a Black Hole.

Or maybe the universe IS the inside of a black hole, i.e nothing leaks out, but it oscillates between vast and tiny, perhaps in quadrature with a dimension we can't detect, the way a photon oscillated between electric and magnetic fields.

The OP belongs to the "I don't understand it, therefore it can't be true"
group of people.

And it makes no difference anyway. Our current understanding is merely based on the latest observations and technology. 500 years ago, the current understanding was that Earth was the center of the universe. Also based on the latest observations and technology.

500 years from now, who knows what the latest observations and technology will tell us?
