    a) It's pretty easy to play
    b) Resulted in many cover versions - therefore widely recognizable
    c) Incomprehensible lyrics in most famous version led to speculation about lewd content, conspiracy to er... corrupt America's youth, etc.

    The groove on that record is amazing. No, not the groove*s*, the
    rhythmic coherence and apparent disregard for prior rhythmic convention.
