From Newsgroup: alt.english.usage


Shouldn't "Pedo" by itself just mean "kids"? The problem is the "phile"
part. "pedo-lover" is a totally wrong combination of words to mean "pedo-phile" in my opinion!

"pedo-lover" should just people who cares about kids, unless the word
"lover" also hints about "phile".

Who're playing with common English words with evil intent? :)

In Spanish it's even more tricky, as pedo means fart. Pedophilia and
your pedo-lover will, I suppose, induce connotations of F. p|-tomanie,
even if Sp. like E. has flatulista here, wonder why.
Sp. allows also spelling paidofilia, and has, changing topics, the
hybrid pod||metro (Gr. pous instead of L. pes) for Latin-English pedometer.
