Look, this is mostly 'politics' ... and what's OK
and Not OK and Who Cares and Nobody Sez Shit will
vary widely from year to year, place to place.

    Schools have been 'ideological indoctrination
institutions' for a LONG time. I'm old enough
to remember when they were major anti-RED/Commie.
Then they became PRO-Red/Commie. Now, depends.
Before commies they put huge emphasis on
    'Christian' indoctrination, the Xian bible
    being a major textbook.

Elsewhere in the world, similar ... just
    depended on which nations/ideologies were
considered 'enemy' at the time. "Hitler/Lenin/
    Jeezus Youth" equivs were NORMAL.

So, sorry, I'm going to say that in USA there
has NEVER been such a thing as a 'neutral'
    public ed system. NOWHERE really.

Sucks, but reality is reality and you're
NOT gonna do much about it. Whom/What-
Ever the Current Regime is, it WILL
    make great efforts to indoctrinate
    the kiddies.
