The dreamer was involved in preparing to take a trip in an SUV-type vehicle *as
a passenger,* in the middle area of the vehicle, and the driver appeared as my biological father, perhaps in his mid 40s, and had the air of "Let's go!" [Gotta
move, etc.] and the dreamer had the feeling of hustling to get into the vehicle
even though he may have been *not quite* ready / set, but the impetus to get moving / going was something that simply was obeyed rather than questioned.
The "setting" of the scene became that of a view of US-41 as seen from the SE side of the intersection with Hwy 96 (now "Old Fort Parkway," but in the time-setting of the view, it was somewhere similar to the 1970s or thereabouts,
which would have simply been the intersection of "US-41 & Hwy 96 (aka "Franklin
Road")) heading NW, with a distinctive view of Haynes Bros. Hardware & Lumber approaching on the left side of the vehicle. (Here's a modern-day view of that
intersection / perspective):

The father-figure in the dream (or at least, the narrative mind speaking to the
dreamer) was saying things that prompted the dreamer to reply *along the lines*
of: "The visual is stuck. All I see is a picture of Haynes Brothers' Hardware."
It was as if two comments from the narrative mind (or the father figure) were heard while still the image seemed "stuck" as if, instead of seeing the scenery
pass by the dreamer's perspective inside the vehicle, all that was seen was similar to that link I just shared, as if looking at a still photo, rather than
a moving visual / video.
A moment later, however, and the visual "kicked into synch" with the dreamer's perspective, only the view was a tad concerning, to put it mildly: The dreamer
was as if still in a vehicle, yet in the driver's seat (American front left) and
the vehicle was traveling along train tracks, pretty much just like you might see occasionally in movies / TV shows, etc., although the path being traveled was *smooth* rather than bumpy, indicating that either the vehicle was designed
with train wheels for traveling on rails, or was driving on tires that had been
partially deflated so as to roll more "locked onto" the rails, rather than rolling off of them if they'd been fully inflated. Regardless, the motion in this segment was "smooth" rather than "metal wheels on rails."
What was concerning, however, was the vehicle was traveling along rails that were headed directly into a type of fully-shut gateway, *as if* it were emerging
*from the inside* of a roundhouse out into the world outside the roundhouse by way of simply *plying straight through* the closed doors / gates.
Well, there was a *split second* of a sense of a crash, yet the next moment, the
dreamer was beyond the doors, and the world was a degree or so brighter, as if coming from the interior of a building into the natural-daylit world beyond.
The dreamer had a view of a young boy, possibly around age 5 or 6, possibly 7, who appeared Caucasian with sandy-brownish hair (longer than a crew-cut, but not
overly long, *shorter* than a Beatles length cut in the '60s. It was maybe an inch+ in length? Just long enough to brush, rather than comb- "Cherubic.")
The dreamer spoke to the narrative mind (the "father figure" was no longer visible, and the dreamer *may* have been communicating with the "son figure" *or
possibly* "the narrative mind" of the dream) and made a type of exclamation of realization, along the lines of "Oh! This is a 'Life Review, right!?" (thinking
that the dreamer was being given a life-replay for observation, much as a movie
or TV show might show a flash-back or background sequence to explain what's coming next, like a prequel or intro to a book.) The idea that it might have been a future-type vision was almost like a secondary thought on the backburner.
The thing is, though, that as the dreamer focused his attention on the child and
the surrounding background (of which none was actually noticed at this point) the *motion* of the dream basically came to a complete halt, and I awoke. This
all occurred early in the morning, likely somewhere between dawn and 7:30 AM (CDT.) (It's just been such a busy day today, that I'm only now finding the time to write all this down, at 23:10 (11:10 PM.)
