First, congrats to Sandy$ for getting through that robot check. For all the effort they went to, it still somehow has *zero* effect on all the spam that gets dumped into this (and certainly *countless* others!) news group.
Next, at least *one* "catch up" dream that I was too busy to post on mornings past.
One in particular was a view as of a branch coming from the perspective of just to the left of a tree trunk: the branch was maybe 4"rCo6" in diameter near the trunk (there was no actual view *of* the trunk, nor was there any other sized object available for scale reference) and extending at least 4' out to the left. (Mind you, it could have been pointing in *any* direction *outward* from the trunk, but that's just the perspective seen from the narrative mind / view of the dreamer.) The end of the branch was *perhaps* 2"rCo3" in diameter.
On the branch were about a half-dozen children, at least 3 or maybe 4, possibly more, and rather than full-human-sized children, these were seen as just faces, almost as if they were blossoms on a branch.
There was some type of thrust up against the bottom of the branch, as if from a left-handed palm-thrust / strike, not enough to dislodge it from the trunk, but it did set the limb to vibrating rapidly, nearly fast enough to produce a low hum, although there was no sound within the dream itself.
Also, it wasn't vibrating like a branch that would be swaying in the wind, or [sproinging] like a diving board, but rather vibrating as if it were a tuning fork or guitar string producing 3 or 4 (or more) harmonics along the length of the branch, yet the faces of the children remained in place (without falling or shaking off the branch. They also all appeared to be facing the dreamer's perspective.)
The dreamer actually reached both hands forward to "mute" it from the top and the bottom of the structure (branch, limb) so that the branch became still, then the dream ended. Gonna give this a "clarity 7" (symbolic) because I'm of the opinion that they all represent a "branch" of the "Silk" family tree, that being, my offspring. (The faces *could easily* have represented my children in their cherubic-age photos. The face (on the branch) closest *to* the trunk was the last child I fathered, that being Alyssa, of when she was around age 3 or 4.)
Last night (actually between 3 AM and 8 AM this morning) I dreamt I ("the dreamer") was riding a bicycle along a road, similar to a rather wide section of road such as the entrance ramp from a local road onto an interstate, but there were no other vehicles on this road, just the dreamer, sitting on a bicycle, push-rolling forwards by using feet to the surface. Why the dreamer wasn't using the pedals? There was no answer to that question, although it *did* seem to be "heard," but there was some type of reply like, "Maybe this bike has no chain..." but the response was like, "This is gonna be a *long* ride...." (/trip/journey)
The next scene, the dreamer was on a *nice* (freshly, newly paved) road, with at *least* 2" of asphalt, possibly up to 4", again on a bicycle, and again, no other vehicles, but I *think* the dreamer *may* have had pedal power along this section.
Either way, a *lot* of admiration / praise was being emoted over the condition of the roadway, and a note of [community pride] was felt for the overall reputation for the *excellent* condition of "Tennessee Roads" (those quoted words *were* "heard" in the narrative mind of the dreamer!)
The next scene was as if the dreamer had arrived at the destination, that being some type of bare-walls building (white walls) of bare rooms (seriously, just floor/ceiling/4 walls) even though there was at least 1 room (that was entered) and one hallway (rather wide, yet bare) and the dreamer was carrying along a bag of cable, similar to CAT-5 or even maybe CAT-8 cable that is (commonly) used for networking computers either together in an office, or to a hub/router of some kind. (In real life, I run *blue* CAT-6 level cables from my WiFi modem/router, under the floor, under the house, to the two far-northern-end bedrooms, so those two PCs get 10 Gbps level (*hah!*) connections. Whether the data from the provider flows at full speeds, or not, is another issue, along with the reception speed of the NICs of the units.)
In the dream, a few elements are going on:
    1) The dreamer is laying cable from the first room entered (or aware of during the dream) along the hallway, as if to reach a destination that may *somehow* be "Gina-related," as if maybe the cable is being laid to reach *her* computer (?)
1b) there was a second *section* (or *length*) of cable that had been added to the first (much like plugging in one electrical extension cord into another, only CAT cables typically *avoid* using junctures IRL due to decrease in signal speed) and although the first cable *may* have started out as orange, this last cable was *clearly* yellow, no mistaking that color on a network CAT cable (apparently around CAT 5E or CAT 6, RJ-45 type plugs.)
    2) During the laying out of the 2nd section of cable (that ran out in the hallway) the dreamer realizes a few things:
    a) "I knew I shoulda brought that third length of cable."
    b) "Where did I leave my clothes?"
    c) "Where's the bag I was using for the cable?"
    d) "Now I'm naked, can't find the bag, and can't find my clothes. What next?" (yet all those elements were pretty much in the space of a single moment in dream time.)
    3) There *may* have been someone else present in the building / area of the dreamer. There was certainly the *sense* of someone else (possibly female, possibly Gina) in the building, *near* the dreamer. There *may* have been someone heard speaking.
Fortunately, that somewhat embarrassing moment *ended*, clarity 9+ (as that road was *excellent!* and the yellow of the cable was *perfect!*)
I know a *number* of dreams have evaporated. Sorry. Busy week, relatively speaking.

    From Newsgroup: alt.dreams

Starting a dream at a kind of greasy burger joint, the dreamer has handed money (probably a $5 bill or such?) through a type of window where the other side is at a slightly lower level, as if the dining floor may have been 1 foot or more higher elevation than the kitchen area (on the other side of the wall, through the window/counter.) The guy on the other side looks to be roughly of Mexican / Latino / Central American ethnicity, with dark, curly yet thinning hair, maybe in his late 30s / early 40s, or had a significantly rough life that may have made him look older than he was.... the name "Guzman" comes to mind, possibly "Gonzales," but the action is of the guy fumbling around with something like a ratty-condition, $1 bill change, as if he's having trouble getting it to line up properly in relationship with the palm of his left hand, thumb and fingers.
The dreamer has the sense that the guy may be "fumbling for a tip" (and yes, I used to do this a bit while delivering pizzas back in the day) as it gives the customer time to say "Keep the change," so that's what I said to the Guzman (cook/cashier) fellow.
There was something said during the dream, along the lines of "hold the onion" as in "NO onion" yet for some reason, there was a selection of onions being presented: a whole onion, one about the size of a softball, the other of baseball, and as those were being declined, there came a *slice* of yellow onion, about 5" in diameter, and about -+"rCorao" thick. I mean, it actually looked *tempting* rCo and that's from the perspective of a guy who has *generally* disliked / declined onions for over 50 years!!
The best that I can recall, the dreamer accepted this "golden slice" of onion, folded it twice (like a paper plate, before tossing in the trash, halved then quartered) and ate it, or at least committed to the act of putting it in his mouth as the dream ended, clarity 9.
(Personal note: IRL, my older brother, Bob, mentioned an onion for *some* reason over the recent Thanksgiving holiday, last Thursday of November, 2023. I *suspect* it was needed for something to do with a green bean casserole recipe, but those use dried/fried onion pieces for the topping. The point is, I bought one, and while I only used *half* of it while he was here <<<Why??? Can't remember>>> the other half remained in the fridge (and kept rather well in the low humidity bin!) and I chopped it up for a crock-pot soup made from the leftover turkey, leftover green beans, a block of extra sharp cheddar cheese (cut up into pieces) and filled with the 3 left-behind beers. There may have been other stuff tossed in, but the point is, I've found that onions make for *great* digestive aids along the intestinal tract! At any rate, I think the recent onion addition to the diet may be directly responsible for at least a *part* of this dream.)
Now whether this greasy diner dream had anything to do with the idea of Central American reptiles (or not) is anybody's guess, but this next one was *vivid* by comparison to the dream before and the dream afterward:
The dreamer is, again, at some type of restaurant / diner, *possibly* the same as the one just mentioned, but it was *definitely* a "different scene" (from a production standpoint / perspective.)
The dreamer kept noticing this particular "snout" appearing as if behind some various items along a counter top. Imagine the proprietor (or order taker / cashier / assistant mgr) stands on *one* side of a counter, perhaps chest high, and the customer on the {camera/dreamer's perspective's} side.
Atop the counter (at near eye level) are *various* items, possibly ingredients in jars, possibly a napkin holder... just "stuff"rCo and the dreamer is seeing this "snout" sort of peeking out from around the itemsrCo here a moment, there a moment, enough for the dreamer to realize that [there's something alive back there.]
The dreamer keeps his thoughts to himself, for the moment, uncertain as to whether or not this may be a pet of some kind, or if it may be a venomous / dangerous snake (python? constrictor?) or -just *what*- it may end up being.
The proprietor (or employee?) appears (on the business side of the counter) and the dreamer finally brings the critter to the other guy's attention, something like: "Is that your pet?" (indicating the general vicinity of the critter, as it was again hiding from obvious view.)
    "What pet?"
"That critter behind the [stuff] on the counter top." (This dialogue is *not* verbatim, but *rather accurately reflects* the general sense of what was going on in the dream itself.)
The guy goes into an immediate attack/defense action of some kind, as the critter has to be approached *from behind* so as to avoid having one's face/hands bitten off / eaten by the critter's somewhat pointed snout.
Now, to be sure, in the dream, the narrative mind was thinking "Gila Monster" although *possibly* "Monitor Lizard" may have been considered. Sometimes ideas just flow so fast that putting them into precise words is *inaccurate,* to say the least.
What I can tell you is that I "looked up" ("Googled," but using Duck Duck Go) images of both the Gila monster *and* the monitor lizard, to try to figure out what I saw in the dream. The Gila monster *generally* has a much darker appearance overall, and even showed some reddish variants. The monitor lizard is much darker/browner overall, whereas the critter in the dream looked much more like the colors shown in this link:
    https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1572916239238-cdd76c4b2c62
(like a "wolf snake" or possibly "desert kingsnake," etc.)
Description of the critter: It had black and yellowish (two tone) scaly skin, like the *smooth* skin of a snake, the kind that actually has a "sheen" or "shine" to it, and the yellowish-white was similar to the color of the onion. There *may* have been a *suggestion* of green to the yellow. All I can say is, I'm "moved to mention" the color "green" although it was more "sensed" than "observed."
The critter was *definitely* reptilian, four legged (short legs, for crawling / scampering close above the ground) and there was the *sense* that the toes had claws (much like a dog's claws, only *much* sturdier / bigger / thicker, and *pointed* sharp, like a cat's claws) long bodied (maybe 3'rCo4' in length?) and even though the diameter of the torso was likely less than 1', it could *easily* be considered as "all muscle," pretty much *very* Gila-monster-like in nature.
The *snout* of the critter was a bit more like that of an alligator (rounded) than a crock (pointed) yet perhaps half the length of either of them. Perhaps you've seen a dog (like a German Shepherd) with a *long* muzzle (compared to a pug!) yet capable of getting a firm clamp on a person's armrCo same thing: if this critter got a bite on you, it could have *nasty* consequences.
The tail length was *less than* clearly observed, but would be *nearly* the length of the torso.
A guy (looking rather Anglo-Saxon) who was seen primarily as a figure outlined in white with black contrast, practically like a simple-animation character, grabs the monster / critter from behind and begins to wrestle with it, basically pulling it up front-side, with the critter's back to the guy's chest, and keeping the critter's mouth/jaws from facing the guy, thus also keeping the critter's legs and claws pointed away from the guy's body.
The critter's mouth and tongue were moving, as if lapping at air, *kind of* in the manner that a snake's tongue might "sense-smell the air" by flicking its forked tongue, only this critter's tongue *may or may not* have been forked. (I have the impression it was rounded, as a human's tongue is rounded / flat across along the leading edge.)
There was a momentary scuffle, as if the guy was getting a better grip on the critter, then the critter was "cast out" of the front door of the building / establishment / diner / restaurant (whatever) and the door was shut, even though there was a view of the critter as it was walking (like crawling/shuffling along on 4 short legs, mind you) away from the door.
The general feeling at that moment was along the lines of "it's on its own now, and out of the building."
I gotta tell you, this feels *very much* like an angel ("Anglo-Saxon") coming into a scene to cast out a demon, where the building represents the dreamer's soul. The flickering / yammering mouth/tongue of the critter could be likened to that of a demonic liar / beast, but hey, the dream was simply a dream at the time of dreaming, with no other interpretations added. This paragraph is simply an interpretation that comes *while typing up the dream itself.* Clarity 10-, but *if* it was an angel casting out a demon, *then* definitely 11.
This last dream is fairly mundane by comparison, as it deals with kids (guys, perhaps early-to-mid teens?) futzing around with going from one kid's home to another, as the back yards of the two houses are diagonally "catty-corner" with each other: Setting up a four-square, with the top two blocks (squares, houses) being north (#1 & #2) and the bottom two south (#3 & #4) and the left blocks "facing west" (#1 & #3) and the right blocks "facing east" (#2 & #4) then the kid (or kids) went from house #2 (upper right, back yard) across to house #3 (lower left, through the back yards) and whatever else they may have been up to (I have the impression that the one kid from house #2 *may* have gone to visit / pal around with the kid at house #3, *or* they *both* left # 2 to go to #3, with the final result being they *both* ended up over at house #3) has been lost to "evaporation" (this late in the morning, just before noonrCo like I said, this particular dream was boring by comparison) clarity 8 to 8-.
Most (if not all) of these dreams likely occurred between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM (due to an awkward evening schedule.)

    From Newsgroup: alt.dreams

The dream / encounter began with some type of meeting (reunion?) between the dreamer and a female somehow identified (introduced?) as my first grade teacher (which brought to mind Mrs. Caffey ( facebook.com/ann.caffey.3 ) a young woman in the mid-to-late '60s, with darker, auburn-reddish hair, who at times in my life has reminded me *just a tad* of my own mother, who was likely a few years older than Mrs. C., like maybe 10 or so, possibly 15?)
At any rate, the teacher-character was on the dreamer's right, yet there was a bit of a shift, whereby the teacher was positioned directly ahead of (and facing) the dreamer, and she said *something* to the effect of "I'd like to discuss your book with you" (or possibly: "About your book....") (when I awoke from this dream, I *could* have stated it verbatim, it was that clear) followed by some type of comment regarding the "meaning" within the text.
At some point, either while she was speaking, or while the dreamer was replying, as she took the position facing the dreamer, there were *at least three* extremely bright lights *behind* her, which caused the dreamer to "lower his [my] gaze" so as to avoid staring directly into the brightness of those lights. They gave the dreamer the impression ("reminded him") of the high-spots mounted over the cab of a red-neck's pick-up truck, as if the truck were behind her, facing her back / the dreamer's front, and giving the dreamer just a *hint* of the analogy of a deer "caught in the headlights," except that the dreamer had no thought of avoiding nor fleeing from the lights, just that they were there, presumably for the purpose of "shedding light on the subject" of the discussion content, being the book (that I've written in real life) that the teacher was discussing with the dreamer.
The dreamer (pretty much, "me") gave a very clear reply as well, although this journal entry is *much* later in the afternoon (the dream/event occurred likely before 8:30 AM, possibly even before 6:30 AM) so what follows is a *rough* recall of the word/thoughts shared:
"Well, yeah, after all, the word 'word' *is* 'logos' (++-i+|++-e) literally meaning 'meaning,' 'logic,' so it's clearly logical that the words within the book have meaning...." but even so, the dreamer realized that, *perhaps,* the "teacher" was indicating that the overall understandability of the book might improve with some artful editing, even though that was not specifically said (or heard) as part of the dialogue. It certainly matches an underlying current of thought that I myself have about the book.
I *think* the dreamer went on to inform the teacher, "That's why I'm re-posting it section-by-section online," to help "smooth-out" the narrative, prior to transferring it *back* into book format, whereupon it will *again* likely get another ironing to help "smooth out" some of the more intricate thought / word structures.
(Corollary: rCLIf you canrCOt explain it simply, you donrCOt understand it well enough.rCY~ Albert Einstein?)
As to how much of that was actually spoken *within the dream* beyond the point of "the words within the book have meaning" were actually a part of the session before the teacher, being spotlighted by the 3 great lights, well, that's all debatable. That the dreamer actually made something of a *valid* "play on words" in responding to the teacher, well, that's rather interesting in and of itself. Like, *who does that in a dream???*
So that dream basically ended, clarity a bit of a mix between 7 (symbolic) and 10 (those three quasar-like lights were *very* bright!) and 11 (presuming this was some type of astral event, and seeing as how I have 3 sons, could well be the case.)
There was another (short) dream (rather average, yet "cute") wherein the dreamer was in an area *like* a field, *like* someone's larger back yard area, where the ground was *dirt/desert* type composition (no green, just brownish-tan everywhere) along with at least one other person (possibly female) and *possibly* another male, of anywhere along the spectrum of "adult-aged"rCo from young adults (young married couple?) to maybe 30s (although no actual age was detected. Could've even been 50s+!
As the dreamer and the adults were standing in the yard area / dirt-zone, there was seen a small critter-like object, possibly a rabbit, moving as if just at the level of the soil, sort of like a submarine cruising along above the water line, only this critter had the impression of being fur-covered, even though it was never clearly seen.
As I'm typing this up, it occurs to me it *may* have been a mole or ground hog, but "rabbit" was the thought within the mind of the dreamer.
The critter was moving fast, and trying to set the positions, let's say the dreamer was "center stage" while the adults were a few feet, possibly yards, "stage left" (the audience's right) and *just slightly* downstage (further from the camera perspective than the dreamer) yet within comfortable conversation distance of each other.
The critter was seen moving (in this arrangement) as from far backstage right (furthest away from the audience, to the audience's left) to far upstage right, like making a direct line of motion from "north to south" as it were.
My dog (IRL) Ginger came to the dreamer's mind, and at that point, sure enough, Ginger came into the scene from off-stage left (like, as if from out in the audience, to the right) and was chasing the critter to backstage left (from south to north) a good number of yards away, as if along a property line or such.
So to recap: the critter came burrowing at rapid speed from north to south along the western edge of the yard, then was seen being chased by the dog from south to north along the eastern edge of the yard.
The dreamer was *as if* shrugging (his) shoulders to the others, as if to say, "See what I mean?" but the dream ended before anything was actually said (best as I can recall this late in the afternoon / early in the evening.)
    Overall clarity, 8+/9-.
Now *just for fun,* here's a note of what happened *IRL* a short while ago:
I went shopping at the local Wal*Mart store somewhere around 2-PM-ish, to get birdseed (and also some iron-patch tape) then went to Kroger's (for some groceries, like coffee, cream-of-wheat for a green bean casserole, et al.) when I saw this scraggly/scrawny looking female (?) with a head of orange-red (*very* Irish) hair, and I thought right off the top of my head that it *could* be my 2nd ex-wife, Helen (((Helen Bigelow Heath) Siss) Silk) mother of Charles, my first-born son.)
She was along the back aisle of the store (like along the meats section) and looking as if doing some calculations using a smartphone as a calculator, or possibly checking prices, etc.
I saw the *bony* / scraggly fingers, and knew right away, that was Helen. Seriously, if she had on a black cape with a black, broad-brimmed, cone-tipped hat and a straw broom, she would make the *classic* Hallowe'en witch.
The day she and I were married (back in 1992) she actually looked cute (for one time in her life) almost like a doll, however, that was likely due to the occasion and make-up, etc.
Meanwhile, this afternoon, she appeared rather thin / scrawny / bony, whereas back in the '90s she had the heft of a female football player, likely because she had a rather strenuous position of making cottage cheese, and that required constant arm muscles / upper body strength all night long, all week long, and she often worked weekends and holidays (to get double and sometimes triple time pay.)
If I didn't know any better, I'd nearly guess she was having some type of blood or bone cancer issue, except that her hair was as full as always. I mean, *any* *actual* circus clown would be *jealous* of that head of hair of hers.
At any rate, I went up and said "Hi, Helen!" to her, and asked how she was doing, and she replied something like "OK," and I followed up with, "How's Charles?" to which she gave some sort of "OK" reply, then asked point blank:
    "I'm sorry, who are you?"
There was a moment of suppressed laughter. I mean, I wanted to come up with something hilarious just then, but just stating the truth was sufficient to do the job: "I'm your ex-husband."
Needless to say, she had a moment of embarrassed recoil at that point, and it was then that I noticed she was with the babysitter she ran off with, Robert Carlos Guthrie (I call him "El Sid" in general references) and he was looking quite a bit older than when I last saw him, and also perhaps twice as heavy as back in the mid '90s. It was as if every pound she had lost, he had gained.
Well, just thought I'd mention this in this post. It likely has *nothing* to do with any of the dreams, but happens to be one of those *rare moments* that I thought I'd mention it here.
Note: Not too long ago, I also saw my first ex-wife, Mary Beth Stone, as she and her parents were walking down the aisle beside where I was dining (with my elderly mother) at an Outback Steakhouse (it was her birthday in June, likely around 2020 or thereabouts) although I remained silent as she passed by, rather than say anything to her or her parents.
For the record, I've been *legally* divorced *twice,* fathered at *least 2* (up to 4) children from two different women, yet technically "never married." (I know, weird, but logically speaking, I'm "still single.")

I think you are correct thinking the tree branch with [children's] faces are part of the Silk Family tree because if had been my dream I would['ve] thought the same thing. When riding anything from a [bicycle] to a car, both of these represents you in this life.

That makes sense rLo Also, the idea of a bicycle / car being something this-life-related makes perfect sense as well, as if "transitioning from point/location A to point/location B" even from the perspective of traveling between points of time. rLo
