2025/03/23 Sunday: The tie that cuts (?!)
Most of last night's / this morning's dreams have evaporated, however, there was
one that lasted well after waking, and I'm posting about it *now* (writing it up
after 5:01 PM CDT) so as to "get it off my mind" for the time being-
The dreamer was observing a young, white male (perhaps around his mid-20s to early 30s?) ahead to the right of the dreamer, seen facing left, as the east faces west when observed from the south, who I *believe* was named "Michael," who was vaguely accosting person B, who appeared to possibly be a female, who *may* have been facing Michael, yet appeared to be retreating (westward) while still facing Michael (who was approaching from the east of the scene.)
The male to the right ("Michael") was wielding an actual scalpel (such as used by a surgeon, M.E., or even a lab scientist or college student) in his right hand, which was why the female was retreating from him, as if to avoid being sliced (or worse.)
The dreamer came *to* Michael in a manner as to direct Michael's attention, whereupon Michael stood looking directly at the dreamer, only at this point, the
scalpel was in Michael's *left* hand, as since he was opposing the dreamer, who
had (his) arms outward (elbows lowered) towards Michael, the scalpel was somehow
placed (with *mild* pressure) against the dreamer's right forearm.
The dreamer was speaking to Michael, as if to calm or possibly reassure him, while avoiding any discussion or mention of the scalpel against the dreamer's forearm.
Then, as such would tend to happen without reduction of force, the blade of the
scalpel sliced down into the flesh of the dreamer's right forearm, leaving a gash of perhaps 1+"-2" in length, whereupon *Michael* somehow let go of the blade, or the blade simply disappeared, but the reaction was that it was *Michael* who had a sudden look on his face, like a toddler who'd incurred an owie, such that the pain was sudden and unexpected, and his face also looked like that of a toddler, who'd suddenly began to cry as a consequence of the unexpected, hurtful pain.
The dreamer simply addressed the gash, noticing that there was no blood, and pushed the two sides of the gash together, as if to apply pressure to stop any possible bleeding, and to allow the two sides of skin begin to heal, but the dream (event) ended as the flesh was being pressed together, clarity 9++. The only reason it wasn't an actual 10 is because:
A) the female's identity (while suspected) was unclear, and
B) the scene was almost entirely of Michael and the dreamer, while the background was simply dark, rather than well-lit.
What makes this a 9++, however, is that the *pain* of the scalpel cutting into the dreamer's arm *persisted into waking consciousness* for several moments!! (*Maybe* under a minute of "real-time.")
As I'm typing this up, it *could* be a dream-relevant consequence of actual muscular soreness as a consequence of yesterday's afternoon activity, where I was helping my "new neighbor" (across the street, where the Bells had lived since the house had been built in the early 1960s) with chain-sawing the trunk/limbs of two trees he'd cut down for landscaping purposes. (Old man Bell
died in November of 2023, and the property sold to new owners last August.)
