• Proposing alt.fan.learnixtv

    From TronNerd82@tronnerd82@aol.com to alt.config on Mon Jan 20 18:12:40 2025
    From Newsgroup: alt.config

I'm proposing the creation of a newsgroup dedicated to all manner of
discussion surrounding LearnixTV, an up-and-coming YouTuber who
primarily interacts with fans through Discord, but has expressed
interest in alternative gateways to fan interaction. I've gotten his
    permission to propose the newsgroup.

CHARTER: This newsgroup is to discuss LearnixTV, and as well as general discussion regarding LearnixTV's topic of choice, free and open-source software. Spam, off-topic discussion, and talk of piracy/binary sharing
are not permitted. What is permitted are discussion regarding FOSS
software, LearnixTV's YouTube career and speculation about his videos,
as well as the occasional bit of general chit-chat. This newsgroup is
    not moderated.

JUSTIFICATION: LearnixTV is rapidly gaining popularity, and he has
expressed interest in alternate methods of communication with fans
beyond his Discord server, provided he doesn't necessarily have to run
it himself. I can imagine that alt.fan.learnixtv would be rather active.

As an aside, my ISP prevents me from sending control message headers, so
I would like to politely ask if someone would be willing to do so for
    me. That is all.

This would be, by definition, a vanity froup no one wants.

I can imagine it will become a spamtrap. No one on Usenet is speculating
about his videos, so there will be no one to post to the group, let
    alone anyone requesting its creation.

As an aside, my ISP prevents me from sending control message headers, so
I would like to politely ask if someone would be willing to do so for

    Ain't that just too bad.

Discussion of proposals takes place on Usenet. Do not contact me in
    email.

As if 90% of the alt.* heirarchy isn't already vanity groups.

No, just the vanity froups are vanity froups. The others aren't.

What makes this one any different, and therefore unacceptable?

Use an existing group to discuss the topic. If anyone is interested and
there's enough discussion, then perhaps you think about a new group.

But no one wants a group for self promotion.

Again, as if 90% of the alt.* heirarchy isn't also packed with spam. And
as if a good third of the groups don't already have nobody to post to
the group. Considering the vast amount of dumb groups in this heirarchy, >what's another niche group among countless others?

No one wants your vanity froup.

As an aside, my ISP prevents me from sending control message headers, so >>>I would like to politely ask if someone would be willing to do so for

    Ain't that just too bad.

Take the dildo out your ass. If you wanna single out my group while >blissfully forgetting the other 5 gazillion trash groups on Usenet, then
I think I'll take my business elsewhere.

    Suck a fat one.

    Dignity. Always dignity.

Yer just the very bestest proponent.
