    From Newsgroup: alt.config

    For your newsgroups file:
alt.comp.os.windows-11 Central group for all things related to the
latest release of Microsoft Windows version 11.

CHARTER: alt.comp.os.windows-11 provides a place for the
consolidated discussion of Microsoft Windows version 11.

    JUSTIFICATION:

Microsoft has officially announced the release of Windows 11. A new group
is needed to best support community interests.

    Thank you for your consideration.

The newsgroups file line MUST NOT have a break in it. Please please
please stop copying that stupid newgroup message that's years old and
got everything wrong about what a brief description should be.

Listen to me. It's not difficult to get right: It's a phrase made up of
key words (search terms) that do not repeat words in the group name. Not
a single word, except Microsoft, belongs in the brief description.

CHARTER: alt.comp.os.windows-11 provides a place for the
consolidated discussion of Microsoft Windows version 11.

Again, stop copying that nonsense. It's not "consolidated discussion" as
you are clueless about where the discussion is currently taking place.

    JUSTIFICATION:

No, that's not justification. You didn't perform a justification, which
is an examination of where discussion is currently taking place so you,
the proponent, knows where to promote the group.

Microsoft has officially announced the release of Windows 11. A new group >is needed to best support community interests.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Is there truly some reason why you need to use Steve's anonymizing
service and can't behave like a proper proponent, making yourself well
known for discussing the topic? You can't be a good proponent given that
you have never discussed the topic anywhere.

Being a proponent is something that's done in public, not hiding one's identity.

Is there some reason why you are personally discouraging proponents from writing proper charters with syntactically correct newsgroups file lines
    sent in newgroup messages?

You can do what you like, but you're not being helpful in any way.

"You don't have to bother to promote the group or to post on topic, or
to even write a proper charter with proper newsgroups file line in a
proper newgroup message. I'll just create it."

That's the message you just sent to Our Dear Proponent.

You can do what you like, but you're not being helpful in any way.

You're as free to your opinion as I am to ignore it.

In the part of the quote you excised, you already told the proponent
that you had created the newsgroup. I hadn't even offered my opinion yet. Exactly how did you ignore my not-yet-offered opinion as you had ALREADY created the newsgroup?

You don't get that you're jumping the gun here or WHY you are in the
wrong? You aren't the proponent. He is. At least allow him the courtesy
of maintaining control of his own proposal. There's always the chance
that he'll fix the charter or short description and drop the false claim
of justification. Maybe someone else will comment other than me, given
that by tradition, there is a one-week comment period. Maybe he'll change
the group name. Maybe he'll decide to wait till there's an actual product released into the marketplace that users can discuss.

    Yep.

I took one look at that list, saw the OP's requested group name format
was consistent. I assumed that it was a matter of time before there
would be more demand for the new Windows 11 counterpart. So I just
created it and replied to that fact.

I might ask that once it's been created on more news servers that
someone, maybe the OP, send a polite "Hey, there's a new newsgroup for
Windows 11" to some other groups; preferably with a follow up to the new group.

I know you're jealous, Bruce, because you are not the center of attention
on this one. Grant already beat you to hijacking the proposal. Your antics,
if any, would be too late. Feel free to create the group with a different

I thought they were rhetorical, and I also thought you were well aware
it's irrelevant to commenting on a proposal. It's all very strange what

Bruce, you're nothing but a troll. You have no redeeming value. I'm
spitting out the hook. Your rhetorical questions continue to have nothing
to do with who is permitted to comment on a proposal, which would be the
entire Usenet community. The purpose of alt.config is to comment on
proposed newsgroups, not to pursue your personal vendetta against me.
There are between half a dozen and a dozen revenge froups for that.

You are still the lowest of low-life scum for hijacking that proposal,
a shameful act for a News administrator who understood full well why
that was abuse on Usenet for an unethical News administrator to act in

Of course it always ended up being denied, none of them were news admins so they couldn't of created the group if they wanted to. (hint hint on the

Hey folks, get this, if you want a new alt.* group created or added to your service, just ask the news admin to add it. They'll probably be happy to do
so. If it doesn't get any traction (posts), feel free to come here and say something like, "my news admin created alt.phony.news-admins" and we'd like
to see other systems carry it.

Likely the few real news admins reading this group will also be happy to add
it also. No fuss, no muss. No stupid discussion is needed, no complaints
about spaces instead of tabs, this or that over 78 characters, charters or other justifications. (this offer does not apply to alt.binaries.*).

No, he goes way back before then.

In 2001 he probably was already micromanagering this group (alt.config).

Him and several of his circle jerk friends would just about shoot down any proposal made here. Like psychotics torturing ants with a magnifying glass.

Of course it always ended up being denied, none of them were news admins so they couldn't of created the group if they wanted to. (hint hint on the answers to the two questions).

They just liked to string people along making them jump through hoops.

And 20 years later he's still at it. No help what so ever. Just nitpicking over rules and stupid syntax and naming conventions that aren't even real except for in his head.

Hey folks, get this, if you want a new alt.* group created or added to your service, just ask the news admin to add it. They'll probably be happy to do so. If it doesn't get any traction (posts), feel free to come here and say something like, "my news admin created alt.phony.news-admins" and we'd like to see other systems carry it.

Likely the few real news admins reading this group will also be happy to add it also. No fuss, no muss. No stupid discussion is needed, no complaints about spaces instead of tabs, this or that over 78 characters, charters or other justifications. (this offer does not apply to alt.binaries.*).

This is the way alt.* was supposed to be managed.

If the group fails, it fails, move on to the next.

Kerman the German luvz him sum sum bureaucracy. He also enjoys jamming
tons of word salad down your throat, since his stubby schlong won't
    reach that far.

His hobby is virtue signalling his love of rules, procedures, forms, and processes that can be used to befuddle and torture innumerable souls,
placing compliance with orders from his head's headquarters above the
dignity and common sense of obvious human need and recognizable propriety.

Kerman the German suffers grand mal seizures when he sees others who
fail to goose step perfectly in line. He projects his own atavistic
fears and hatred upon the people he attacks, while accusing his victims
of deserving his persnickety and searing abuse.

The admins who added the new group were correct. It is glaringly
obvious that what was requested was relevant regardless of "procedure".
Good on you, gentlepeeps, for having the audacity to do what makes sense
and pull the trigger instead of waiting for a court-appointed
    cooling-off period.

Kerman the German places the reverence of a thing above the people the
thing is supposed to serve. He believes that Usenet is more important
than the people that use it.

In sum, Kerman the German is a Pharisee without a flock to torture.
