• Firefox 150.x and Linkman Link Manager

Linkman is no longer supported, and the company, Outertech, seems long
gone, but it was still working great until Firefox 150.

It used to be, I could right-click in a Linkman folder, and choose "Add bookmark from browser", and there it would be, along with some meta data
that the site (I'm guessing) has set up.

But now, the same action seems to look for a URL on the Windows clipboard,
and if none is found, splats in some link that already exists in somewhere
in Linkman (the same one every time).

I have since found that if I first copy the from the browser to the
clipboard, then the action will splat in a good link, albeit without any of
    the usual meta data.

I'm not understanding the mechanism here. What is Firefox 150 doing differently?

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Linkman is definitely NOT exactly a true Firefox kind of browser
extension, definitely not compiling with the new Web Extension.

    According to the following webpage:

    Firefox Bookmark Manager <https://www.outertech.com/en/firefox-bookmark-manager>

A legacy addon for Firefox below version 56 and the Palemoon browser is available here (<http://www.outertech.de/files/legacy/LinkmanFox.xpi>).

I tried searching for "linkmanfox", "linkman fox" and
"link man fox" in Firefox 150, nothing came up.

The webpage said a TCP/IP port was needed. Did you try it?

I suggest you file a complaint to Outertech! Might be just a minor
problem to fix, unless it violated Web Extension security.

Could you just manually copy and paste your links into its external
    program. :)

Now I see the Outertech web pages again--I couldn't raise them a few days
ago. So now I've sent them a query.

    Yes.

Done, but I'm guessing they don't really support LinkMan anymore.

Yes, even just copying the URL to the Windows Clipboard, and then clicking
on "Add link from browser" in Linkman works, but doesn't get any of the ancillary data. Why that works at all is a mystery to me, as is what
changed in Firefox 150 that broke that wonderful ability in LinkMan.

I don't use LinkMan. There are Firefox add-ons that copy both title and
URL to clipboard. You can use Notepad as an intermediate steep. Might
save you a few clicks. :)

I am using Copy Selected Tabs to Clipboard and Copy Plaintext.
