I have a Windows 11 desktop which has recently decided that it doesnt want to shut down.
I close all the programs, and click the shutdown button-a - then the screen goes blank for about 5 seconds, and it just pops back with the login screen as if nothing had happened
Any suggestions ?

If you don't normally use "Control Panels", you can run "control.exe"
to cause the folder for the panels to appear. This item in the
Task Bar can then be "pinned" so it is available each day while
using the machine.

These aren't all that useful (as they're not stating a root cause,
only a rough event that is a side effect of a root cause). But,
you can try feeding one of these to an LLM-AI for a more focused
determination.

Since you're doing a shutdown, rather than a sleep, then the output
of powercfg /lastwake is unlikely to help.
