    Why do you believe an aging machine should lose value? Do you work for
    Intel, AMD, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, or any of the other computery manufact-
    urers I completely forgot to mention?

    Also, just program your own games. Then you won't lose out, no matter
    what machine you have!

    and OS should sustain me for quite some time.

    I hope so too. I have an industrial tower at home, with Windows 11. I
    did not, and do not like Windows 11, but I'll live with it until some-
    thing better comes along.

    That something better is not Mac OS, nor Linux.

    My industrial tower of white magic is blinking in excitement over future adventures. Adventures that will at some point knock on Baldur's Gate,
    and other strange places.

    I have a 14-year-old Linux laptop (ASUS) that I still use for
    testing code in Ubuntu Studio.

    The 6-year-old Lenovo Ideapad FLEX 6-14IKB (Arch Linux) on which I'm typing this still looks brand new.

    It's called Illumos now, and it's on my radar. Unfortunately, I was
    unable to boot neither Omnios nor OpenIndiana installation media on my
    white tower of colourful magical lights.

    So I stuck with looking out of my eleven Windows.


    Can you boot the illuminated operating system on your tower?
