How can anyone forget IE 4.0's Active Desktop?
Was it Win98 (before I cry for Google Search)?!
I think it started with Win95/WinNT4, maybe it lasted until Win98/Win2K/ WinXP?
IE4, initially was released in 1997 and included Outlook Express(OE).
OE's initial release was also the rebranding(name change) of Internet
Mail and News.
Also in 1997 IE4 and Outlook Express also was packaged with MSN Explorer
2.6.
Active Desktop(AD) included in IE4(1997) lasted until Windows Vista
circa 2006 when AD was deprecated, replaced by Windows Sidebar and Gadgets
IE4/OE/AD were all released during the Win95 era and prior to Windows
Vista.
