why haven't we managed to arm to world's people against tyranny yet???

seriously if ~350 million citizens globally have guns rights while
    roughly 8 billion people don't...

who's actually keeping the tyranny at bay???

How is it that you understand self-defense (which is the basis of gun
rights) is a universal right but somehow /property/ does not rise to the
    same level?

Do you even ever think about the reality that guns are in fact property?

Your belief system is a bundle of contradictions.

How is it that you understand self-defense (which is the basis of gun rights) is a universal right but somehow /property/ does not rise to the same level?

because they aren't the same thing, and do not have the same properties

self-defense is inherently self-limiting to to oneself. unlike property
rights it does not expand arbitrarily. the unbounded expansions of
property rights, on the other hand, then can interfere with the basic
freedoms of others, whereas defense of one's actual self does not

nvm the fact that gun rights aren't even about self-defense like cons endlessly bleat on about EfOaEfOaEfOa, that is best left to a legal/policing system. gun rights are fundamentally about democratizing /common
defense/ against tyranny (both internally and externally), not

    You are soaking in it.

There are an estimated 400 million to 500 million privately owned
firearms in the United States. This means there are roughly 1.2 to 1.5
guns for every person in the country, making the U.S. the only nation
with more civilian-owned firearms than people.

actively train and arm the population (to some high percentage). and
i think we should do so on the taxpayers dime because it's
advantageous for the preservation of liberty, to have a distributed
the common defense against tyranny. we have than enough gun
    production to achieve this

And who would be paying for the "free" guns and that training?

progressive taxes, like how we pay for the military already dud
So you're counting on the government to fund the thing that will stop
the government if they get too despotic and authoritarian.

So you think guns for citizens will stop government if they get too
    despotic.

    Ok, good luck with that.

Try to imagine if guns weren't allowed in the United States. What do you think the statistics would look like?

The gun death rate per capita in the United States is typically 7 to 8 times higherrCothan the rate in Canada.

    Overall Rates:
United States: The total firearm mortality rate is roughly 13.7 to 14+ deaths per 100,000 people (according to data compiled by organizations like the Giffords Law Center).

Canada: The total firearm death rate is notably lower, historically hovering around 0.5 to 2.0 per 100,000 people depending on whether you look strictly at homicides or total firearm deaths (suicides, accidents, and homicides combined).

YES, YOU DON'T FUCKING CARE ABOUT THE GUN DEATHS U EVIL MOTHERFUCKER

I dont care about your evil fantasies.

the guns deaths in country are far from fantasies u evil denialist fuck

Try to imagine if guns weren't allowed in the United States. What do you think
    the statistics would look like?

The gun death rate per capita in the United States is typically 7 to 8 times higherrCothan the rate in Canada.

    Overall Rates:
United States: The total firearm mortality rate is roughly 13.7 to 14+ deaths
per 100,000 people (according to data compiled by organizations like the Giffords Law Center).

Canada: The total firearm death rate is notably lower, historically hovering around 0.5 to 2.0 per 100,000 people depending on whether you look strictly at
homicides or total firearm deaths (suicides, accidents, and homicides combined).

    and this:

Homicide and Firearm Breakdown Firearm Homicides:

According to a comparative analysis by Statistics Canada, 76% of all homicides in the United States in recent years were firearm-related, compared to 38% in Canada.

Non-Firearm Homicides: Interestingly, when firearm-related homicides are excluded, the non-firearm homicide rates in both countries are nearly
identical (about 1.24 per 100,000 in the U.S. vs. 1.18 in Canada), meaning the vast gap in total homicide and violent death rates is driven almost entirely
by access to and use of firearms. For more in-depth comparative data, read the full report via Statistics Canada or explore summaries at CBC News.

If the bad guys didnrCOt have access to guns, the law abiding people wouldnrCOt need guns to protect them from the bad guys.
Simplistic I know but thatrCOs how it works in countries that restrict gun ownership. They just arenrCOt available for anyone, good or bad guys. (Unless in CanadarCOs case theyrCOre smuggled across the border. :( but thats minimal.) Even if there was a ban on guns in the U S., the guns are already there and

I wonder if enough of the US population wanted a gun free country, it would
    be possible to have one.

Simplistic I know but thatrCOs how it works in countries that restrict gun ownership. They just arenrCOt available for anyone, good or bad guys. (Unless in CanadarCOs case theyrCOre smuggled across the border. :( but thats minimal.)

I wonder if enough of the US population wanted a gun free country, it would be possible to have one.

Try to imagine if guns weren't allowed in the United States. What do you think
    the statistics would look like?

The gun death rate per capita in the United States is typically 7 to 8 times

    Overall Rates:
United States: The total firearm mortality rate is roughly 13.7 to 14+ deaths
per 100,000 people (according to data compiled by organizations like the >>> Giffords Law Center).

Canada: The total firearm death rate is notably lower, historically hovering
around 0.5 to 2.0 per 100,000 people depending on whether you look strictly at
homicides or total firearm deaths (suicides, accidents, and homicides
    combined).

    and this:

Homicide and Firearm Breakdown Firearm Homicides:

According to a comparative analysis by Statistics Canada, 76% of all homicides
in the United States in recent years were firearm-related, compared to 38% in
    Canada.

Non-Firearm Homicides: Interestingly, when firearm-related homicides are
excluded, the non-firearm homicide rates in both countries are nearly
identical (about 1.24 per 100,000 in the U.S. vs. 1.18 in Canada), meaning the
vast gap in total homicide and violent death rates is driven almost entirely >> by access to and use of firearms. For more in-depth comparative data, read the
full report via Statistics Canada or explore summaries at CBC News.

Gun homicides have reportedly decreased significantly in the past two
years. Especially in the Northeast and the West.

Now look at who is actually doing the killing. There's a specific >demographic and specific ages, in particular.

For context on the percentage of each group see the chart here: >https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_ethnicity_in_the_United_States#Census-designated_ethnicities:_Hispanic_or_Latino_origin

Don't blame me, all of those are federal government stats.

No, I don't think so. In fact I have heard no such propaganda. So
the necessary and obvious conclusion would be that law abiding
citizens have no need for guns since they aren't using them. Only
criminals use them to kill people, which then would be each other.

However, I don't think that the criminal population in canada is so
very much smaller percentage wise to make canada have so many fewer
deaths. I think it would be more honest of you to more carefully
    address that difference.

wow ur actually that fucking dumb creon???

the liability from having bad guys with guns far out classes the safety
you get from having guns to defend against knife attacks, and the stats
speak for themselves across many countries

i'm not anti gun rights entirely mind you. i understand why they exist,

    safety within society ...

Mother Jones is an American magazine or something, right.

    It's called an "equalizer".

    non-firearm assaults - Canada and U.S.A.

"While knife attacks and non-firearm assaults occur in both countries at relatively comparable base levels, the immense per capita gap in overall violent deaths is driven almost entirely by the higher frequency and lethality of gun violence in the United States."

suppose so but speaking for Canada, I've never been attacked by someone with a knife, nor do I know anyone who has. And I don't know anyone who carries a knife for protection. (I do have a little Swiss Army knife on my keychain. but that's for all kinds of other stuff, not for protection.)
