To me and a lot of other people. The pertinent questions to us."many
    people" remain:

How nasty he is, how deeply offensive. How did this ugly man become
president? What does that say about the people who
    voted for him?

The polls now say that his approval is

"Our default average reflects a combination of all polls, whether
conducted among adults, registered voters or likely voters. If a
pollster releases multiple versions of the same survey, we use the
all-adult version of the poll before the registered voter version.2
This is because all Americans have a say in how popular the president
is u whether or not they vote."

    https://www.natesilver.net/p/trump-approval-ratings-nate-silver-bulletin

    38.2
And the trend has been steadily downward since Mar 2025.

I say that makes my assessment more that a toss away opinion, and my
    questions are valid.

    Answer up.

Ha, one of the very few r's who didn't support himbo is milquetoast.
That is the one thing you can't accuse him of. Unlike Liz in Wyoming,
he did manage to hang on this congressional seat in utah, in spite of
similar voter mood in his state, until jan 2025 when he retired. I
say that success in the face of headwind is very much to his credit.

if there were no decent d candidates on offer.

    candidate ever),
just like they did about Bush 1 and then Bush 2 (also literally Hitler).

Oh, I don't think the objections to the bushs are anything like to
himbo. And no, bush is in no way anything like adolph. See how you
guys line up to trash people r's who dare to criticize himbo?

Bush 2 did attack iraq. And he gets credit for defeating sadam and
sort of install a new wobbly regime, which most of us see as an
unnecessary intervention in the affairs of iraq.

Himbo is failing to do even that much in iran, even though some of us
think he might have had good reason to attack. Too bad he really had
no plan to win in iran, and allowed himself no credible advisors to
help him do that, or to help him know better than to try. Such is the
    penalty of sycophants.

So what do the r's do? If a candidate with possible popularity
appears on the scene right, now, the r's are on him with fangs and
claws. Such as the gov of calif recently for instance.

Even though, we inadvertently are benefitting (certainly not Trump's plan) by reaching out to other countries for fair trade and mutual support and getting it because they know that Canada is strong, stable, and our word can be

Donald Trump is strongly opposed to woke ideology. He frequently
campaigns and governs against what he terms "woke" or progressive
agendas, framing them as divisive and harmful to the United States.

    - Trump also wants to make a shit ton of money from his presidency. And
    he is succeeding bigly.

Apparently, as President of the United States, Donald Trump's official statutory salary is $400,000 per year, which is paid out monthly.
However, he does not keep this money, choosing instead to donate his
entire presidential salary to various federal government agencies.
Because the U.S. Constitution mandates that the president must receive compensation, he legally accepts a symbolic $1 annually.

Having said that, Trump makes a ton of money on cryptocurrency projects,
and related crypto initiatives; brand Licensing; international real
estate and licensing deals (including branded merchandise and
properties); and favorable legal outcomes that reduced prior multi-million-dollar judgments, strengthening his overall liquidity.

His stake in Trump Media and Technology Group remained a multi-billion
or high hundred-million dollar asset. YMMV.

    Answer up.

Trump's attack on Iran and the his bungling of the Epstein thing were
black marks and hurt his approval greatly. Still even with those giant >eff-ups he's only a little lower than Biden at the same point in his term.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2026/08/06/trumps-job-approval-rating-is-low-by-historical-standards/

Regardless, he is the lowest of any on the graph. That means
something. The trend was consistently down long before either of
those eff-ups starting from Feb 2025.

I think that 38% represents his core support, below which he probably
will not go. It is those who admire and love him no matter what he
