Not sure you'd be knowing anything about Thunderbird

You aren't sure about much are you?

    , but nobody in
their right mind would use a Win 95 Usenet reader to send an email.

It has been upgraded often since that original agent .99. Do you know
what tv show that was a reference to?

You're supposed to keep your business mail on another computer, not just >>>> use one single computer for every gaming task. YMMV.

I shouldn't need to tell you this, well I don't need to but it is
kinda fun, so here's the thing,

My system boots 4 os's. None of which is win 11, which I refuse to
use much like emojis for similar reasons.

Not sure why anyone would need 4 operating systems to send a text
message to Usenet or a email. YMMV. Where's Creon?

Yes, have different uses for each of them. And since I have 64gb of
ram and 5 hd's (2 of which are ssd) with 14 partitions, things are not
    a bit crowded.

Me and Rita each have a roomful of computers and gadgets.

She's the Apple gamer, I'm the PC news nerd. It all depends on the task
at hand. Rita is a creator into music; Nick might only need an Apple
laptop to key in /basic; Julian might need a Gibson or a pair of Crays.
    YMMV.
Windows 11 is already loaded onto the HP Mini Computer at $139.

We hooked ours up to our wall mounted flat screen smart TV in the den
and down loaded open source Thunderbird and the Whisper Flow, speech to
    text program and all set.

It's not complicated if you have Wi-Fi and a fast internet connection
like Comcast or a T-1 line running direct into your house using high
    speed fiber optic cable.

If you decide to go this route, I suggest at least a 75 inch flat screen
and a nice recliner, covered in leather, including padded arms and a
high back, with swivel and rollers (built in cup holders optional).

    Get on the program!

Since I am a programmer, I know about programs and have mine, I don't
    need yours.

Not sure you need a super computer to write /basic in plain text. I
guess it all depends on if you are working on the cloud or storing data
    on a local disk.

So, I guess you could use ftp (file transfer protocol) to upload a flat
file to a remote server. Rita uses WinZip.

For local storage I use RAID: A series of hard disks used together for
file storage (Redundant Array of Independent Disks).

Rita's Mac mini isn't even on the internet for music and video
production. She is into multi-media, so she went for the power Mac pro.
    YMMV.

And finally, if the day should come that I need a new computer, I will
certainly build it myself to suit my needs. Never would a buy a low
end laptop. If I have money to throw away, I can always flush it down
    the toilet.

You can get a Windows 11 unit on Amazon for $139.

You're supposed to keep your business mail on another computer, not just
use one single computer for every gaming task. YMMV.

I shouldn't need to tell you this, well I don't need to but it is
kinda fun, so here's the thing,

My system boots 4 os's. None of which is win 11, which I refuse to >>>>>> use much like emojis for similar reasons.

    Get on the program!

Since I am a programmer, I know about programs and have mine, I don't
    need yours.

Not sure you need a super computer to write /basic in plain text. I
guess it all depends on if you are working on the cloud or storing data
    on a local disk.

That's cool, you know nothing about what I write or what I need. Stay
    that way.

    Alright then, that's a wrap.

Imagine a CEO today working from a basement using a home brew PC.

I'd say that homebrew is far superior to beer in a can. Hey, if you
are a ceo, at least get some wage slave to build you one, because
there are some things that you simply can't buy in a box store. But
if you are unable to do that yourself, what *are* you good for?

So, I guess you could use ftp (file transfer protocol) to upload a flat
file to a remote server. Rita uses WinZip.

For local storage I use RAID: A series of hard disks used together for
file storage (Redundant Array of Independent Disks).

Rita's Mac mini isn't even on the internet for music and video
production. She is into multi-media, so she went for the power Mac pro.
    YMMV.
