False Bible doctrines: The dead still alive?

If they are still alive, then they are not really dead. Right? "Dead"
    is defined as:

"The word dead most literally means no longer living or deprived of
    life". (AI Overview)

So if your loved one dies, that person is "deprived of life." He can't
be living as an immortal soul or anything else.

The Bible CLEARLY tells us the condition of most all of the dead:

    - King James
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the
dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the
    memory of them is forgotten.

    -- New King James
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your
might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the
    grave where you are going.

    - King James
    Ps 146:3,4 3.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is
    no help.
    4. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very
    day his thoughts perish.

    -- King James
John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them,
Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of
    sleep.

    -- New King James
1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who
    have no hope.

So a Bible summery of the condition of the dead:

    - The dead know nothing. (Ec 9:5)
    - The dead have no knowledge or wisdom. (Ec 9:10)
    - The dead have all their thoughts perish. (Ps 146:4)
    - The dead look as if they were sleeping. (from Jesus; John 11:11)
    - The dead look as if they were sleeping. (from Paul; 1 Thess 4:13)

The Bible says that all the Scriptures are God-breathed. (2 Tim 3:16)

Thus GOD is telling us those glistening gems.

But some say their churches teach them that it is an immortal soul
that survives death. (see again the definition of death above)

    A soul is not immortal:

    King James
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father,
so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall
    die.

Also, some will say the apostle Paul and others went right to Heaven
when they died. That is true. But those who continue to live right
after dead are a "little flock". (Rev 14:1; Luke 12:32) The majority
of the dead temp do not exist. Their hope is for the resurrection of
the dead, both good and bad.

    -- New King James
Acts 24:15 "I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept,
that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and
    the unjust.

    Many ways to have
    a great family.

Ultimately they want a false gospel that gets them off the hook for
eternal condemnation, even if they reject Christ as Savior. Thus they
promote a false gospel that leads men to the very conscious eternal
torment they feign to "comfort" people about.

A Soul SurvivorrCOs Guide to Eternity

It is a natural human instinct to seek comfort when faced with the
reality of judgment, often leading many to wonder if death is simply an
end to all consciousnessrCoa quiet fading away into nothingness. This idea offers a sense of relief from the sobering biblical warnings of a
conscious, eternal destiny for those apart from Christ. However, true
comfort is found not in redefining the nature of the soul to avoid
difficult truths, but in understanding exactly what the Creator has said
about our design. Scripture reveals that the human soul is not a
temporary spark that vanishes to avoid pain, but an indestructible,
eternal identity that outlasts the body. By setting aside our
preferences and examining the actual words of God, we find that our
eternal nature is precisely what makes the gift of salvation so vital.

    I. The Unique Origin of the Human Soul

The Bible distinguishes human life from animal life by its origin. While animals are described as "living creatures" (nephesh) in the biological
sense of having life (Psalm 104:27-30), Genesis 2:7 reveals that man
became a living soul through the "breath of life" (Neshamah) breathed
directly into him by God. This specific Hebrew term, Neshamah, refers to
a divine impartation of spirit and intellect that is never attributed to
the animal kingdom. Consequently, humans do not just possess a
life-force; they are eternal beings inhabiting temporary bodies.

II. The Soul's Independence from the Body

Matthew 10:28 provides the definitive proof that the soul is not the
body, nor is it merely the biological life-force (Ruach). Jesus states,
"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul." This statement creates a necessary distinction: if the soul were just the
body, it would die when the body is killed. If the soul were just the
"breath" or "life-force," then any man who stops that breath would, by definition, kill the soul. Because Jesus declares that the soul remains
beyond the reach of those who kill the body, the soul must be a
distinct, persistent entity that survives the cessation of physical life.

III. Death as Separation, Not Annihilation

In Scripture, "death" never signifies "to cease to exist," but always
"to be separated." Physical death is the separation of the soul from the
body (Genesis 35:18; James 2:26). Spiritual death is the separation of
the soul from God (Ephesians 2:1). The "second death" is the final,
eternal separation of the soul and resurrected body from the presence of
God (Revelation 20:14). If death meant non-existence, then the biblical descriptions of the soul "departing" (Genesis 35:18), being "at home
with the Lord" while "away from the body" (2 Corinthians 5:8), or having
"no rest, day or night" (Revelation 14:11) would be scriptural
    contradictions.

IV. The Meaning of "Destruction" (Apollumi)

The Greek word for "destroy" used in Matthew 10:28 is "apollumi."
Throughout the New Testament, this word refers to "ruin" or being
"lost," rather than "annihilation." For example, the "lost" sheep
(Matthew 15:24) and the "perished" wineskins (Matthew 9:17) used this
same word; they did not vanish from existence, but were ruined or
rendered useless for their intended purpose. Destruction in hell is the eternal ruin of the soulrCothe permanent loss of its well-being and relationship with God, but not the end of its existence.

    V. The Reality of Eternal Punishment

The Bible teaches that the duration of the soul's fate is unending. In
Matthew 25:46, the same Greek word for "eternal" (aionios) describes
both "life" and "punishment": "And these will go away into eternal
punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." To suggest that the
soul is temporary would be a linguistic error, as the same word would
have to mean "everlasting" for the saved but "limited" for the lost
within the same sentence. Revelation 14:11 confirms this duration,
stating that "the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever." A non-existent being cannot be "tormented" or experience an eternal state
    of "no rest."

    VI. Conclusion

The Bible reveals the soul as the seat of human identity, created by God
for eternity. It is not a temporary life-force that vanishes at the
moment of physical death. Instead, the soul is a persistent entity that survives the death of the body, remains conscious after departure, and
faces an eternal destiny. This destiny is either a state of glorified
life in the presence of God or a state of righteous ruin and eternal separation from Him.

    Good News rCa

    Jesus is God: christrose.news/Jesus-God.

The exclusive, saving gospel states that Christ died for our sins and
rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 1:8-9). All other
gospels are counterfeit and doom people to conscious, eternal torment in
the lake of fire (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; John 3:36; Revelation 14:11; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10-15). If you deny that Jesus is God,
you will perish in your sins (John 8:24).

Jesus fully satisfied our sin debt to God through His crucifixion
(Colossians 2:14), a truth confirmed by His resurrection (Romans 1:4). Consequently, God maintains His perfect justice while pardoning
believers (Romans 3:26) and rescuing them from imminent judgment (1 Thessalonians 1:10). This salvation is an unearned gift received through
faith (Romans 6:23). Trust in Christ and call upon Him for your
    salvation (Romans 10:9-13):
