Jesus' 'return' to rule on earth? Scripturally, no way!
Jesus' 'return', according to the Bible, is based in Heaven.
It makes no difference to me where Jesus rules from. But Christians
have to go by the Bible. And the Bible clearly implies HEAVEN.
Here it is:
-- New King James
John 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My
kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should
not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.''
And other Scriptures support John 18:36
For instance, Jesus said nobody on earth will ever literally see him
again:
-- New King James
John 14:19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more,
but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
That is so true since Jesus will be ruling from Heaven.
But doesn't Rev 1:7 say, "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye
shall see him".
Isn't that a contradiction?
The most symbolic book in the Bible says "every eye". If it is not
literal eyes, what kind would it be?
Some translations of Rev1:7 say he comes IN the clouds. (Weymouth's
New Testament, GW, ISV, Phillips, NOG, NLV, WE)
IN the clouds means invisibility. WITH the clouds can mean that also.
Notice how Mark worded it:
-- King James
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the
clouds with great power and glory.
Again, it clearly shows invisibility to those on earth.
Jesus is talking about sight that is not physical. (see John 9:39-41)
People will discern (see) that Jesus is invisibly present when Jesus
starts to bring destruction upon the ungodly people of this world.
