Cavemen. Did they really exist?
It was unlikely they lived in caves, because they are cold and damp
and house wild animals such as bears and lions. They actually built
huts and such from animal hides, or wood, or mammoth bones. (AI
Overview)
Then how do you explain cave paintings, human-made artifacts,
remnants of campfires, bones of game animals that were
butchered, cooked, and eaten, and occasionally human remains,
all being frequently found in caves?
According to the Bible, mankind started off much like we are. They
had a sophisticated language as well as some built-in knowledge such
as farming, etc.
Thus, those who drew cave pictures were not morons. They had much
of the capabilities we have today, as far as their bodies went.
AI Overview did not say no one lived in caves, but that it was
"unlikely". Ancient artifacts have also been found outside of caves,
such as ancient huts of various compositions. As AI Overview wrote:
"Ancient humans built open-air shelters like stone windbreaks, brush
huts, tents, and pit-houses when caves were not available. For most of
human history, people lived out in the open. Caves were often damp,
unsafe, or far from food and water.
Early humans used clever engineering and local materials to build
their homes.
Also, before modern technology, the ancient Egyptians built pyramids.
We still don't know exactly how they did it. And when you do the math,
it doesn't make any sense. They would have had to install a massive
carved rock every couple of minutes to make it during the time line:
"Yes, to build the Great Pyramid of Giza in about 20 years, builders
had to place roughly one 2.5-ton stone block every two minutes around
the clock." (AI Overview)
We couldn't do that pace with modern machines. So how did they do it?
The Bible shows that Adam and Eve spoke a language, and Adam even
recited poetry. (Gen 2:23) Thus the Bible showed that humans started
out with abilities like we have today. THERE WERE NO STEREOTYPE
CAVEMEN. That is macroevolution showing its ugly head of lies.
You are misinterpreting passages that are allegorical, not
literal. If you cling to a literal Genesis, you are setting
yourself up for inevitable theological failure.
I see you haven't studied the Bible in much depth. All through the 66
books of the Bible, some Scriptures are literal and some are symbolic.
Usually, context shows which way it is to go. And Revelation is the
most symbolic book of the 66 books.
Concerning early Genesis, much of it is literal. If you have any
questions about it, I'll see what I can find.
There were obviously humans who lived in caves, probably on a
transient or seasonal basis. Stereotypes would be like the
Geico cavemen.
The Geico cavemen were Neanderthals, which they found out were much
like us physically.
For example, Professor Ralph Holloway of Columbia University in the
BBC program "Horizon: Neanderthal". [
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/horizon/neanderthal_trans.shtml], said that when comparing the skull of the Neanderthal man with that of
a modern human:
"The first thing that really grabs your attention I think is its size,
it's much bigger, and significantly so than the normal modern human
homo sapient's brain....the shape of the frontal lobe is really
absolutely no different than what you find in the modern homo
sapien's. So the prefrontal portions that are supposed to be dealing
with very complex cognitive functioning, and so forth, are thereabout
identical between Neanderthals and modern homo sapiens. So this I
think should lead to the idea that basically their cognitive abilities
are the same as our own."
If you want real truths, the Bible is the answer. (John 17:17)
Did you know the Bible described the earth as round (spherical), (Isa
40:22), and floating in a void. (Job 26:7) This at a time when they
believed the earth rested upon elephants, or a flat earth, etc.
The bible describes earth in different ways, but in most
cases it's clearly a flat earth cosmology. In your "round"
case it more likely meant circular than spherical.
The Hebrew word used there is "hhug", which some Bible
Scholars say means "spherical". Have you researched it? If no, then
you are missing the point. Yes, the Bible at times uses hyperboles. So
do we. For example do you criticize NASA?
From a NASA web page promoting its "Passport to Knowledge Project", it
makes the following statement:
"Electronic field-trips via television, print and telecomputing take
students on adventures to the ends of the Earth, to the bottom of the
oceans and out into space." (
http://quest.arc.nasa.gov/antarctica/passport.html)
Is NASA saying the earth has "ends", thus is flat or cubical? I am
sure you don't conclude they meant that literally, and neither should
you conclude the Bible is literal all the time. You have look at the
context, and other related verses etc, to determine literalness or
not. Isn't that a fair way to interpret the Bible?
