    Christmas myths vs Bible truths

    Christmas myth #1

#1myth: Jesus was born on December 25.
#1truth: The Bible doesn't give any date.

The actual time of Jesus birth could not have been in the cold month
of December since there were shepherds living outdoors. (Lu 2:8-11.)
Jews living there will tell you it would have been between April and
    October.

So why Dec 25 and not some other day? To mix in a pagan holiday with
Christ's birth. 1999 Encyclopedia Britannica states:

"The reason why Christmas came to be celebrated on December 25 remains uncertain, but most probably the reason is that early Christians
wished the date to coincide with the pagan Roman festival marking the
"birthday of the unconquered sun" (natalis solis invicti);"

And the New Catholic Encyclopedia: "The date of the birth of Jesus
Christ can be calculated only approximately....The date of December 25
does not correspond to Christ's birth but to the feast of the Natalis
Solis Invicti, the Roman sun festival at the solstice."

As Wiki says, "the exact month and day of his birth are unknown." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

#2 myth: The 3 wisemen visited the baby Jesus in the manger.
#2 truth: They (quantity unknown) visited the CHILD Jesus in a HOUSE.

As Wiki shows: "Popular tradition also holds that three kings or wise
men (named Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar) visited the infant Jesus
in the manger, though this does not strictly follow the biblical
account. The Gospel of Matthew instead describes a visit by an
unspecified number of magi, or astrologers, sometime after Jesus was
born while the family was living in a house (Matthew 2:11)

Thus the 3 wisemen may not have been 3. They visited the young child
in a house. And they were ASTROLOGERS, a practice condemned by God.
    (see Isa 47:13,14)

#3 myth: A star from God led the 3 wise men to the baby Jesus.
#truth: A star led the unnumbered astrologers first to Herod, so Herod
could kill Jesus, then later to the young child Jesus at a house.

So now an assassination plot has been assembled and the astrologers
are the dupes in this scheme. The astrologers start to travel and see
the "star" again. This time it leads them to Bethlehem and to the
young child Jesus in a house. (Mt 2:9)

After they pay their homage to Jesus, the astrologers are ready to
head back to Jerusalem to report to Herod as instructed. So up to this
point, following the "star" has just about got Jesus killed! How is
God going to stop it? He warns them in a dream not to go back to
    Herod. (Mt 2:12)

So who was using the "star" to help carry out an evil assassination
plot? Who else, but the manslayer and opposer of God, Satan the Devil,
who tricks people by pretending to be an angel of light. (2 Co
    11:14,15)

Thus, the next time you see a religious organization presenting the
NATIVITY SCENE as factual, you can share with them the real bible
facts. But will they accept it? Old habits are hard to break.
