    A review: Trinity

Source is 4th century. (long after the Bible was already written)

Athanasian Creed says "But the whole three persons are coeternal
    together, and coequal."

That was written by uninspired men. This next one from God:

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

    COEQUAL? Not a Biblical chance.

Some may be surprised to know that the word "Trinity" is not even in
the Bible. Its source comes from the 4th century, long after the Bible
    was written.

But what about Mt 28:19? Doesn't it mention the Trinity?

Take a good look at it:

    -- New King James
Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
    Holy Spirit,

Does it call them a Trinity? No. Does it say there are 3 persons in
one God? No. It just names 3 things. Does it say they are all equal?
No. Then that verse cannot be used to define the Trinity. It says
    absolutely nothing about it.

Bible: There is only one God Being.

Bible: The Father, Son, and Spirit are God.

    Only one God

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." (Deuteronomy 6:4, ESV)

"And the scribe said to him, 'You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him.'" (Mark 12:32, ESV)

"Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one." (Galatians 3:20, ESV)

"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believerCoand shudder!" (James 2:19, ESV)

The Bible is explicit and unwavering: there is only one God. Any teaching that suggests there are three separate gods is contrary to the plain statement of Scripture.

Three persons are the one God

    The Father Is God

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 1:7, ESV)

"There is one body and one SpiritrCojust as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your callrCoone Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:4-6, ESV)

    The Son Is God

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1, ESV)

"But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.'" (Hebrews 1:8, ESV)

"Thomas answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'" (John 20:28, ESV)

"Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13, ESV)

Furthermore, the New Testament writers frequently applied Old Testament passages referring to YHWH (the unique name of God) directly to Jesus Christ. In the Greek Septuagint (LXX), YHWH was translated as "Kurios" or "Lord."

    First.rCoPreparing the way for YHWH.

"A voice cries: 'In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD (YHWH); make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'" (Isaiah 40:3, ESV)
"For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight."'" (Matthew 3:3, ESV)
The Gospel writer applies the preparation for YHWH directly to the coming of Jesus.

Second.rCoCalling upon the name of YHWH.

"And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (YHWH) shall be saved." (Joel 2:32, ESV)
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. . . . For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:9, 13, ESV)
The Apostle Paul identifies Jesus as the "Lord" upon whom one must call for salvation.

    Third.rCoThe worship of YHWH.

"By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'" (Isaiah 45:23, ESV)
"So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11, ESV)
The universal worship reserved for YHWH alone is here ascribed to Jesus Christ.

    The Holy Spirit Is God

"But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? . . . You have not lied to man but to God.'" (Acts 5:3-4, ESV)

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17, ESV)

Proposition: The Bible teaches there is one God. It also teaches that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Furthermore, it identifies Jesus Christ as the "Lord" (YHWH) of the Old Testament. Since the Bible does not contradict itself, we must conclude that these three Persons are the one God. You don't have to call it a "trinity" if you don't want to, but to deny either that the Bible teaches there is only one God Being, or that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God, is either blasphemy or the worship of more than one God.

Christ's death on a cross paid the debt we owe God for our sins (Colossians 2:14). The proof is God raised Him from the dead (Romans 1:4).

This means God can now remain right, while forgiving our sins (Romans 3:26) and delivering us from His coming wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10). It's a free gift for those who believe in Christ (Romans 6:23).

If you believe, call on the Lord to save you (Romans 10:9-13).

It doesn't say that any place in the Bible. You have to twist a
Scripture in order to say that.

It implies nothing of the kind.

"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believeuand shudder!" (James 2:19, ESV)

The Bible is explicit and unwavering: there is only one God. Any teaching that suggests there are three separate gods is contrary to the plain statement of Scripture.

Then the Trinity is bogus, and true Christians tell people that so
they can get away from the teaching of demons:

    -- New King James
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some
will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and
    doctrines of demons,

Three persons are the one God

    Please don't become a math teacher. (3 = 1)

    The Father Is God

    True.

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 1:7, ESV)

"There is one body and one Spiritujust as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your calluone Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:4-6, ESV)

    The Son Is God

Look at your Scripture right above. It says God is the Father of all,
and "who is over all and through all and in all."

Yes, God is over Jesus and everybody else. Thus Jesus can't be God.
God is called "Almighty God", is Jesus called Almighty Jesus?
And here is Jesus own words.

    -- King James
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come
again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go
unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

What was Jesus rank when he was back in Heaven with God again?

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1, ESV)

    A bad translation. See above

"But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.'" (Hebrews 1:8, ESV)

Another bad translation. See also above.

"Thomas answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'" (John 20:28, ESV)

Holy smoke! Oh my God! That is just an expression.

"Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13, ESV)

Others read it as TWO persons; God AND Jesus.

Furthermore, the New Testament writers frequently applied Old Testament passages referring to YHWH (the unique name of God) directly to Jesus Christ. In the Greek Septuagint (LXX), YHWH was translated as "Kurios" or "Lord."

Your 4th century Septuagint was tampered with. They took out God's
name as the Tetragrammaton, YHWH, and replaced it with "Lord" or
    "God".

You have a name. How would you like it if they took out your name
every place in your Bibliography. How do you think Jehovah feels?
But not all is lost. God's name has been fully restored in the NWT,
the most accurate translation you are going to see.

    First.uPreparing the way for YHWH.

"A voice cries: 'In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD (YHWH); make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'" (Isaiah 40:3, ESV)

    - American Standard
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the
wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for
    our God.

That is how it should read.

"For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight."'" (Matthew 3:3, ESV)

    Mt 3:3,

"(Matthew 3:3) This, in fact, is the one spoken of through Isaiah the
prophet in these words: oA voice of one calling out in the wilderness:
aPrepare the way of Jehovah! Make his roads straight.Ao" (NWT)

The Gospel writer applies the preparation for YHWH directly to the coming of Jesus.

By not accurately making a quote, you get confused. The quote had the
divine name in it, so it should be found in the NT also. Otherwise it
    really is not a quote.

Second.uCalling upon the name of YHWH.

"And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (YHWH) shall be saved." (Joel 2:32, ESV)

    -- American Standard
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the
name of Jehovah shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah hath said, and among the
remnant those whom Jehovah doth call.

"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. . . . For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:9, 13, ESV)

(Romans 10:13) For oeveryone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be
    saved.o (NWT)

Same with this one. See above.

The Apostle Paul identifies Jesus as the "Lord" upon whom one must call for salvation.

You must not care about Bible accuracy, do you.

The name quoted there is Jehovah, not Jesus or Lord etc.

    Third.uThe worship of YHWH.

"By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'" (Isaiah 45:23, ESV)

Yes, swear allegiance to Jesus, not worship Jesus.

"So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10-11, ESV)

The word "worship" is not mentioned here. If you are taking it that
way, you are yet another step away from the true Bible teachings.

The universal worship reserved for YHWH alone is here ascribed to Jesus Christ.

Jesus was a creation of Jehovah God. Thus shouldn't be worshipped.
Even Jesus himself tells us who only should be worshipped:

(Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: oGo away, Satan! For it is
written: aIt is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him
alone you must render sacred service.Ao

So only God "alone" must be worshipped.

The Holy Spirit is God's active force, so of course God is behind it.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17, ESV)

    A more accurate translation:

(2 Corinthians 3:17) Now Jehovah is the Spirit, [John 4:24] and where
the spirit of Jehovah is, [Isa 61:1] there is freedom. (NWT)
    [brackets mine]

Proposition: The Bible teaches there is one God. It also teaches that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Furthermore, it identifies Jesus Christ as the "Lord" (YHWH) of the Old Testament. Since the Bible does not contradict itself, we must conclude that these three Persons are the one God. You don't have to call it a "trinity" if you don't want to, but to deny either that the Bible teaches there is only one God Being, or that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are God, is either blasphemy or the worship of more than one God.

The God of the OT is Jehovah, not Jesus. The name "Jehovah" is found
around 7000 times in the OT. Notice who God says he is:

    -- American Standard
Exodus 6:3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob,
as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them.

Yes, there is no other Gods. Not even Jesus, who said:

Yet you said, "Any teaching that suggests there are three separate
gods is contrary to the plain statement of Scripture."

    The Father Is God

    True.

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 1:7, ESV)

Yes, Paul asks for peace by means of TWO people; God and Jesus.

"There is one body and one Spiritujust as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your calluone Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:4-6, ESV)

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1, ESV)

Translation error. This Bible scholar said:
In Greek, that passage contains the word "god" [theos] twice, and the
context is talking about God and the Word (Jesus).

The first one has the definite article "the" before it, the second one
does not. Thus there is a difference between the meaning of the first
"god" [theos] and the second "god" [theos]. And a good translation
    should show that difference.

According to the Bible translator William Barclay, he says that when a
Greek noun doesn't have the definite article in front of it, it
becomes a description (like an adjective) rather than an identity
(like a noun). And the second "theos" [god] has no definite article
    preceding it.

The RCC also agrees with him. Notice:

The Catholic Bible, New American Bible (NAB), says in a footnote on
    John 1:1,

"Was God:lack of a definite article with "God" in Greek signifies
    predication rather than identification".

"But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.'" (Hebrews 1:8, ESV)

Concerning Hebrews 1:8. Is the word "God" in this verse referring to
Jesus or God Almighty.? The Apostle Paul here is quoting Ps 45:3-7
and then applying verses 6,7 to Jesus. Notice the context by verse 9
"therefore God, your God" shows that the person in verse 8 is one who
is anointed by God and one who worships God.

Also, the the first application of Ps 45:3-7 was to King David who
foreshadowed Jesus Christ and was said to sit on God's throne. (1 Ch
29:23) Was the writer making the first application calling David,
Almighty God? Not likely. That is why the translation "Your throne, O
God," can also correctly be rendered "God is your throne" because
there is no verb "is" in the original Hebrew or Greek documents, thus
it is up to the translators to insert it. Since He 1:8 is quoting
Psalm 45:6 then He 1:8 can also be rendered "God is your throne".

"Thomas answered him, 'My Lord and my God!'" (John 20:28, ESV)

An An exclamatory sentence like: Holy smoke!

"Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13, ESV)

Paul mentions two people here, not just one God.

Furthermore, the New Testament writers frequently applied Old Testament passages referring to YHWH (the unique name of God) directly to Jesus Christ. In the Greek Septuagint (LXX), YHWH was translated as "Kurios" or "Lord."

Your 4th century LXX is flawed. There are older fragments of the LXX
that show YHWH in the document. For example "P Fouad inv 266".

    First.uPreparing the way for YHWH.

"A voice cries: 'In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD (YHWH); make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'" (Isaiah 40:3, ESV)

    -- American Standard
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the
wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for
    our God.

Second.uCalling upon the name of YHWH.

"And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD (YHWH) shall be saved." (Joel 2:32, ESV)

    Another Scripture tampered with.

    Third.uThe worship of YHWH.

"By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.'" (Isaiah 45:23, ESV)

    21. Declare ye, and bring it forth; yea, let them take counsel
together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it
of old? have not I, Jehovah? and there is no God else besides me, a
just God and a Saviour; there is none besides me.
    22. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I
am God, and there is none else.
    23. By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall
bow, every tongue shall swear. (ASV)

Thus the speaker above is Jehovah.

Not at all. It is all for the glory of God.

(2 Corinthians 3:17) Now Jehovah is the Spirit, and where the spirit
of Jehovah is, there is freedom. (NWT)

Your 4th century Trinity doctrine has been torn apart. Paul's
    statement says it all:

    -- New King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man
is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
