    Christians & The Ten Commandments

They are part of the around 600 laws called the Mosaic Laws. The Ten Commandments are found at Exodus 20:2-17. When Jesus came along, he
did away with all those about 600 laws. Notice:

    -- New King James
Colossians 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that
was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of
the way, having nailed it to the cross.

    See also Ephesians 2:15.

For example, if we were still under a Sabbath law, working on the
Sabbath brought about the death penalty. (Ex 31:15) Is that really
    what a person wants?

Also, there were many Sabbaths, not just the 7th day one.

Other Sabbaths were the 7th day, the 7th year, the 50th year (Jubilee
year), Nisan 14 (Passover), Nisan 15, Nisan 21, Sivan 6 (Pentecost),
Ethanim 1, Ethanim 10 (Atonement Day), Ethanim 15, and Ethanim 22....

    Ro 7:6,

"But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from
the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the
old way of the written code." (NIV)

As the apostle Paul put it:

"But now that you know God--or rather are known by God--how is it that
you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you
wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10. You are observing
special days and months and seasons and years! 11. I fear for you,
that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you." (Ga 4:10,11; NIV)

    -- New King James
Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to
    everyone who believes.

    - New King James
Romans 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died
to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the
Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

But some say there are Moral laws, and ceremonial laws.
The Bible doesn't teach such a split.

Yes, quotations were from the other parts of the Law as well as from
the Ten Commandments and considered all of it equally binding on those
    under the Law. (Mt 5:21-48; 22:37-40; Ro 13:8-10; Jas 2:10, 11)

Thus if you personally wish to observe a Sabbath day, that would be
your personal choice, but the law is not binding upon Christians
    today.
