    Christians and cults

I should have said DEATH cults. Since that is what can happen in one.

(1). Modern cults usually have a flamboyant leader, capable of getting
    and holding your attention.

    (2) He says the world is wicked, and to physically join him away from
    it.

(3). He wants everyone to turn over their moneys received, and
property's owned, to him. (for the good of the group, he says) That
should be a big red flag.

(4). He has sex with whomever he wants, including children.

(5). They usually oppose law enforecment, and may even arm themselves
    against them.

(6). And he may be thought of as a present day prophet or Messiah.

(7). And for whatever his reason is, when he dies, he sometimes takes
the group with him by murder, or by brain-washed suicide.

Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's) have been called a cult by many. So let's
    just see how they compare.

    (1). Flamboyant human leader.
We have none. We have a president of the organization, but so do large corpations. It is just part of the structure of such.
Our leader is a non-human, Jesus. We do all things in his name, and
the name of his Father, Jehovah God.

(2). Isolation away from the wicked world.
JW's are living in the world like everyone else, but are no part of
    it:

    -- King James
John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

(3). JW's don't pass around collection plates or pressure people to
give. They go by the Bible's council:

    -- New King James
2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart,
not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

(4). Sex outside of marriage is forbidden:

    -- New King James
1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does
is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against
    his own body.

(5). JW's obey the laws of the land they reside in.

    -- New King James
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.
For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that
    exist are appointed by God.

(6). JW's are not fooled by religious impostures.

    -- New King James
Matthew 24:11 "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive
    many.

    (7) Do not kill.

    -- King James
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

Thus, JW's don't pass the test of a cult. They are a religious
organization that follows whatever the Bible says, and who follows
Jesus and Jehovah God. And who believe they are the one, true,
    religion of today.

They preach the Kingdom message to all the nations today as per the
    prophecy:

    -- King James
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all
the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Watchtower, the Bible magazine on every cover says:

They proclaim a false gospel, other than justification through faith in Christ, apart from works (Galatians 1:8-9; cf 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). For that alone, they will be punished with everlasting, conscious torment in the lake of fire.

    Good News rCa

Christ's death on a cross paid the debt we owe God for our sins (Colossians 2:14). The proof is God raised Him from the dead (Romans 1:4).

This means God can now remain right, while forgiving our sins (Romans 3:26) and delivering us from His coming wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10). It's a free gift for those who believe in Christ (Romans 6:23).

If you believe, call on the Lord to save you (Romans 10:9-13).

The guy who is the most self-evidently and consistently following and promoting a "Faithful Slave" cult, is in here pretending to warn us
    about cults.

Bible: Bereans are noble for validating teaching from Scripture on their
    own (Acts 17:11).

    Satan's Witnesses:

Jehovah's Witnesses identify the faithful and discreet slave mentioned
in Matthew 24:45 as a small group of spirit-anointed brothers serving at
the world headquarters of JehovahrCOs Witnesses who are responsible for preparing and dispensing spiritual food to ChristrCOs followers
(Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 22). This slave is identified specifically
as the Governing Body of JehovahrCOs Witnesses, and they were appointed by Jesus in 1919 to oversee the household of faith (Watchtower, "Who Really
Is" 22). Because this group is viewed as the only channel through which biblical truth is clarified, adherents are expected to accept their interpretations without contradiction to maintain congregational unity (Watchtower, "Who Is Leading" 26).

Loyalty to Jehovah is intrinsically linked to loyalty to his
organization and the direction provided by the faithful slave
(Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 25). Questioning or openly criticizing the teachings and decisions of the Governing Body is considered a form of disloyalty that can lead to being classified as an apostate (Watchtower,
"Who Is Leading" 27). Adherents are taught that the Bible cannot be
properly understood independently of this organization, making the
acceptance of the slaverCOs understanding a requirement for remaining in
good standing (Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 23).

Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to imitate the noble-minded Bereans mentioned in Acts 17:11 by carefully examining the Scriptures to verify
that what they are being taught is the truth (Watchtower, "Imitate" 7).
This examination is described as a process of proving to oneself that
the teachings of the organization are based on God's Word (Watchtower,
"Be Convinced" 8). Adherents are taught that this verification process
should lead them to recognize that the faithful and discreet slave is
the only channel God is using to provide spiritual instruction today (Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 22).

While the Berean example is used to encourage initial study and
continued conviction, the organization clarifies that individuals should
not seek to understand the Bible independently of the faithful slave (Watchtower, "The Bible Spread" 1). Unity of thought is considered
vital, and once a person has identified the organization as God's
channel, they are expected to bring their thinking into harmony with its published interpretations (Watchtower, "Who Is Leading" 26). The
provision of spiritual food through this authorized group is viewed as a primary means by which Jehovah keeps his people united in one line of
thought (Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 23).

Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (rCa), and God
    raised Him from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death
satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John
2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your
sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on

I don't 'pretend' anything. I speak the truths from the Bible. (John
    17:17)

Bible: Bereans are noble for validating teaching from Scripture on their
    own (Acts 17:11).

    Satan's Witnesses:

Jehovah's Witnesses identify the faithful and discreet slave mentioned
in Matthew 24:45 as a small group of spirit-anointed brothers serving at

Couldn't have said it better myself. (:>)

    This slave is identified specifically
as the Governing Body of JehovahAs Witnesses, and they were appointed by >Jesus in 1919 to oversee the household of faith (Watchtower, "Who Really
Is" 22). Because this group is viewed as the only channel through which >biblical truth is clarified, adherents are expected to accept their >interpretations without contradiction to maintain congregational unity >(Watchtower, "Who Is Leading" 26).

Yes, unlike the churches full of disunity, JW's fulfil the Bible truth
    found at 1 Cor 1:10:

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be
no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in
the same mind and in the same judgment.

You can go to any country of the world, and find the same Biblical
teachings. We have no divisions among us. (try that with the churches)

Loyalty to Jehovah is intrinsically linked to loyalty to his
organization and the direction provided by the faithful slave

Yes, we believe God is backing our organization. If I didn't believe
    that, I wouldn't be here.

We know for a fact that the true religion would be around in these
last days. They are found at Mt 24:14:

    -- King James
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all
the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Whoever is doing that, is the true religion prophesied by Jesus.
On the cover of their Bible-aid magazine, the Watchtower, it says on
    every issue on the cover:

    "ANNOUNCING JEHOVAH'S KINGDOM".

So we are not just saying we are the true religion, but showing it by
    our works.

We also are fulfilling Isa 2:2-4. This must be happening in the last
    days:

And it shall come to pass in the latter days, that the mountain of
Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and
shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
    3. And many peoples shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to
the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion
shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.
    4. And he will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning
many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and
their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword
against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

JW's don't "learn war any more." Many JW's have been put in prisons
for obeying Isa 2:2-4 and Mt 5:5, etc.

    -- New King James
Matthew 5:44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who
curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who
spitefully use you and persecute you,

(Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 25). Questioning or openly criticizing the >teachings and decisions of the Governing Body is considered a form of >disloyalty that can lead to being classified as an apostate (Watchtower, >"Who Is Leading" 27). Adherents are taught that the Bible cannot be
properly understood independently of this organization, making the >acceptance of the slaveAs understanding a requirement for remaining in
good standing (Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 23).

Looks like you have been busy. Having loyalty to a religious
organization seems to offend you. But you forgot the Scriptures that
say to obey those taking the lead:

    -- New King James
Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for
they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let
them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable
    for you.

So do we BLINDLY follow our spiritual leaders? NO! We verify in the
    Bible what they say.

I was at a JW meeting once, and the speaker said even if someone in
authority at the JW headquarters said to do something contrary to the
Bible, we would not follow them. The Bible warns us that coming from
our own organization could be apostates:

    29. "For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come
in among you, not sparing the flock.
    30. "Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse
things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

This happened early in the organization, when high leaders turned
apostate and started their own religions. (see right below)

Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged to imitate the noble-minded Bereans >mentioned in Acts 17:11 by carefully examining the Scriptures to verify
that what they are being taught is the truth (Watchtower, "Imitate" 7).
This examination is described as a process of proving to oneself that

"Be Convinced" 8). Adherents are taught that this verification process >should lead them to recognize that the faithful and discreet slave is
the only channel God is using to provide spiritual instruction today >(Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 22).

??? You seem to know the truth so well, then why aren't you one of us?

While the Berean example is used to encourage initial study and
continued conviction, the organization clarifies that individuals should
not seek to understand the Bible independently of the faithful slave >(Watchtower, "The Bible Spread" 1). Unity of thought is considered

provision of spiritual food through this authorized group is viewed as a >primary means by which Jehovah keeps his people united in one line of >thought (Watchtower, "Who Really Is" 23).

Yes, as mentioned above, the JW organization is of 'one mind'. That is
one characteristic of the true religion.
