• Pass User's Email

    Hi all. Is there a way to pass a user's email address to a door
    or external program? From what I see email address is not
    included in any of the created drop file. Thanks!

    This is correct. As far as passing a user's email address to a drop file I suppose it could
    be done if mystic were coded to do that or if some shim was written to to that. --- Synchronet 3.21d-Linux NewsLink 1.2

    $ pwd
    /app/bbs/docs
    $ grep -i "email" *codes*
    UK - User's email address
    $

    An example of an MCI code and how it would be processed by Mystic
    would be:

    Welcome the BBS, |UH.

    ;-] Have a good day, Sir.

    The MCI codes do fine _within_ Mystic, but I was looking for a way
    to send the user's email address to an _external_ program
    such as a door. There is no internal variable that can be
    passed nor is the email address included in any of the available
    door drop files. Basicslly I need a way to pass the |UK output to
    the external door. I've tried many ways of getting |UK passed in
    Mystic's door/external program setups to no avail. Probably as
    essy for me to re-write the door code to read USERS.DAT and
    grab whatever user records I need that way. Thanks for the reply.
